jimmy47785
Greetings. In retrospect, it would have been advantageous to conduct a more extensive investigation. I have removed the rear arch liners and thoroughly cleaned the accumulated mud and debris from the arch lip. Additionally, I have addressed any surface rust by cleaning and using Hammerite Kurrust. Subsequently, I have coated the area with silver Hammerite Smooth. At this stage, I am now deliberating on the subsequent steps to do. Regrettably, I have come to the realization that it is not feasible to apply the Mercedes Iridium Silver due to potential reactivity with the Hammerite, as indicated by online sources. The Hammerite silver coating provides a very suitable match, particularly given its inconspicuousness when seen from a lower vantage point. Consequently, I am considering the application of wax oil inside the arches as a means of reassembling the components. Any other ideas would be much appreciated. I express my gratitude for your assistance.
jimmy47785
Upon doing an olfactory examination of the Mercedes touch-up product, it was observed that the scent emitted has a distinct cellulose-like aroma. It is worth noting that the product in question is not water-based, however it remains uncertain if water-based alternatives may still retain a similar scent.I am considering avoiding the use of iridium silver overpainting on the Hammerite due to potential adverse reactions with cellulose. Instead, I am contemplating proceeding directly to the use of Waxoyl.
developer
The optimal choice is clear type waxoyl.
alpaco45
Selecting the optimal choice is advisable, while exercising caution against excessive actions.
Blu_Ray_UK2007
In the event of an unfavorable scenario, it is advisable to apply a little amount of paint to an inconspicuous area inside the arch liner. Subsequently, one should see if any adverse reactions occur with the Mercedes paint.
jimmy47785
The suggestion is commendable. I will attempt to implement that strategy. Subsequent to the liberal application of a waxy oily substance, spraying will occur. The possibility of its return is not foreseeable. Fortunately, the structural integrity of the steel substrate remained intact despite the unattractive appearance.
jimmy47785
The expression "good grief" is used to convey a sense of surprise, frustration, or exasperation. The application of Waxoyl from a spray canister is a laborious and futile endeavor. The substance consistently emerges in substantial clusters even with the application of heat. Ultimately, the substance was applied by transferring it into a receptacle and thereafter distributing it over the desired surface using a brush. The lesson has been learned to refrain from using Hammerite goods in other instances. From a fair standpoint, the Kurust exhibited a satisfactory appearance during the curing process. However, I am very frustrated by the inability to apply paint onto its surface. I am inquiring about the efficacy of applying a coat of Zinsser Bullseye as a suitable barrier, followed by painting the iridium layer on top. Additionally, I am contemplating if it would have been more appropriate to use this approach from the first stages of the project.
AMG33D
Waxoyl is a very effective substance that exhibits remarkable properties for extended periods of use. Nevertheless, I concur that its application process might be cumbersome. The inside panels of my 33-year-old vehicle have been treated with waxoyl, a protective coating that was originally applied by the dealer upon purchase. Despite the passage of time, the waxoyl application has effectively preserved the panels, resulting in their continued pristine condition without any signs of rust. Prior to use, my acquaintance applies the waxoyl tin onto the surface of their arga top for a duration of 30 minutes, allowing it to reach a temperature close to boiling point. The application process is executed smoothly, without the formation of any lumps, and remains effective for a duration of around 30 minutes. BEERMAN
I recommend considering the use of Lanoguard. The product has received positive feedback from users. This is the updated iteration of Waxoyl, released in 2023.
jimmy47785
The aforementioned seems to be of high quality. However, the cost is rather high. I am considering Bilt Hamber as my next option. Incredibly, the application of Hammerite Smooth Silver paint has a striking resemblance to iridium, so potentially providing protection against corrosion for a duration of at least one year, if not longer. Thank you for your guidance.
jimmy47785
If anybody is interested, I have discovered a very cost-effective alternative to the products Waxoyl and Bilt Hamber. The automotive retailer in my vicinity had the Silverhook Wax Coating product readily available, which includes a lance and has substantial power. Notably, the product does not need preheating before to use. The efficacy of waxoyl, when diluted and applied using a compressor, seems to be satisfactory; nevertheless, its performance is notably unsatisfactory when administered by an aerosol tin. The efficacy of the silver hook substance was very high.

drummer
The application of Dinitrol or a comparable product is significantly facilitated by the simple process of shaking the can and then spraying it over the desired surface, resulting in effective functionality.
