Japanese Import E400 W213

Recommended Posts

I have encountered an automobile that I find aesthetically pleasing due to its absence of AMG style and its clean appearance. However, before investing further time, I have observed the traditional screen-off COMAND images.

What is required to ensure the dashboard, instrument cluster, and infotainment/COMAND function entirely in UK English and display speeds in MPH?

My 2007 Japanese import ML included a built-in feature to display information in either English or Japanese; therefore, once the appropriate menu is located and English is selected, I am confident that the same applies to that model. It is likely that this has already been accomplished; if not, request the vendor to resolve the issue—any of the principal importers of Japanese used vehicles would possess an individual knowledgeable in this matter. (As a side note, it had not been completed on my device, and the minor seller from whom I purchased it was unaware of the procedure. Consequently, I randomly navigated through all the menus available, all in Japanese, until I encountered one menu featuring a single word in English - "English". Pressed the '+' key—possibly the '-' key—but the concept is clear, and success ensued! All organised.

The challenging aspect will be the radio, as the Japanese utilise a distinct segment of the frequency spectrum for their radio transmissions compared to Europe. Comand Online, or Braybrook's in Welwyn, located near the selling dealer, can provide you with an estimate of the cost.
