I, too, am new to this and know nothing. I've never bought a video camera, but I'd want to get some in-car film. I was inspecting this camera and this bullet cam. Is there anything wrong with this combination? I'd go with the 1GB memory card. Is an external microphone required, or will the built-in mic function with the bullet cam hooked in? Sorry for all of the stupid questions.

I've just lost my first response/comment on this; perhaps it's for the best, as it was a touch harsh! If the remainder of the construction quality is as poor as that, there will be a lot of work to do! Welding may present some difficulties as it appears that stainless steel is involved; no problem with the proper experience and equipment, but otherwise not simple!Is this vehicle IVA/MOT compliant? who truly constructed it? In my opinion, it requires demolition and reconstruction. I apologise if it's the error, and if you purchased it, the person who built it should be very concerned; this type of behaviour puts all kit car devotees in a poor position. Rant is far from over, but if I don't cease, I might get into profound caca.

Before I got my C43, I had three Mk3 Focus STs, and I had mapped each of them to a "stage." Collins did all of my maps, and they were all spot on. My last one was mapped to stage 2 with all the hardware that goes with it. Didn't miss a beat. I think it depends on the mapper, just like in the OP's case. Some mappers are good, and some aren't.

Hot idle oil pressure is a typical symptom of bearing failure; furthermore, remove the balancing shaft covers. Consider removing the shafts while you're in there; the smaller n43 models never had shafts in the first place. A word of caution: the 30 Torx casing bolts are only torqued to 9nm, so don't overtighten them or you'll shatter the mating faces and clog the pump.

Whip off the bearing caps on the balance shaft, which may be worn, and that will help. You can run without balance shafts if you remove them from the housing but leave the housing itself in place, and if you put a m10 blanking grub screw into the oil gallery for the balance shafts in the engine block. The oil pump itself is probably OK, but you may save money by cracking open the casing and inspecting the inner workings first.

Before you whip the engine out, you'll need an axle stand under the gearbox or a jack. I support the engine's weight on a hoist and take it out of the mount bracket to allow myself some wiggle space since the steering UJ restricts the engine's mobility.

On an E90, the bonnet can be lifted off with the engine in normal position by going up with the hoist as far as it will go, then pulling the hoist out a little and going up a bit further till free. Alternatively, pop the struts off the vehicle side and tilt the bonnet open closer to the windscreen; the hinges are built to open wider than in normal operation.

What year is the car? If it's an N47, I'd fix it if it were my; otherwise, the engine has to be removed. Because the rockers on the n47 are sacrificial, a new chain kit and some rockers will usually solve the problem. The cam carrier may sometimes shatter; I've seen this happen once. The engine is removed using a hoist through the top; the most difficult aspect is getting to the top bell housing bolts. On an E90 engine, I can work alone for an hour and a half on the trip.

100% pure in the bottle. Compressed air will help, but only temporarily since the filter gauze will clear off, but the debris is still in the bottle and will be sucked back onto the filter. The only long-term option is to remove the bottle and clean it. I removed the pumps and level sensor from mine and inserted a pressure washer nozzle to blow it all away.

Take the washer pump out of the bottle of washer and look at the filter cloth. I'm willing to bet that it is covered in black slime. If that's the case, wash the cotton and try to clean the cleaner bottle. I used a jet washer through the filler to get as much as possible out of mine.

Yes, all in-car functions function precisely as they do now; the Android displays simply receive the same data as the original display, but also add additional functionality. If it were up to me, I would choose a DAB app over an add-on that utilises a flimsy stick-on antenna, as their signal quality is never optimal.

I have previously utilised this company for replacement screens; I dare assume xtrons has the same setup; however, the Bavarian screens did not require an aftermarket microphone. Also installed a Droid UK one, which performed identically. Without a doubt, all suppliers' screens originate from the same Chinese factory.

Do you mean a replacement screen when you mention "xtrons head unit"? You shouldn't mess with the idrive unit, which is the car's head unit. The new screens I installed did not come with a microphone, but instead made use of the one that came with my BMW. Share your research by posting the URLs for the two options.
