The headlights are not turning off by themselves.

Greetings, I recently purchased a 2014 Range Rover Evoque. As a resident of Iceland, I am aware that it is mandatory to have the headlights turned on at all times. However, whenever I turn off the car, the headlights remain turned on. Is there a way to have them turn off automatically when the engine is turned off? Thanks! I know it's simply twisting a knob, but there are times when I forget, like when it's daytime and the light isn't visible on the road. I'd prefer not chance receiving a fine, so I'd appreciate any assistance!

It may seem dumb, but have you made sure the stalk is set to auto? It should be written on the stalk head, at the bottom setting.

Is there a way to put in an automatic setting that turns off the electricity to the lights when the vehicle is turned off? The car doesn't have one.

I thought they would just switch off after twenty or thirty seconds. Is this anything you've attempted to test? While the vehicle's lights are set to automatic, my Ford Transit van does this.

I was hoping there was a method to disable the lights when the vehicle is turned off, but they simply remained on instead.

Do you have a look at the menu?
You should be able to adjust the duration that the headlights remain on when the ignition is turned off.

Even though I made sure there was no delay, the xenon lights still won't go off.

See if they go off after 30 seconds 🤔 if you try setting it.

That is how it was originally configured, and they don't disable it.

Is your key fob capable of disabling them?

I use the headlight button on the key fob to turn them off, however mine remain on for around 20 seconds after I turn off the engine.
