TDudette
Greetings, everybody. Today, I took my vehicle to have the alignment done. However, I had an issue where the car was just revving and not moving forward. To resolve this, I alternated between selecting reverse and drive a few times. After doing so, the car functioned well for the whole round trip of around 45 miles. I applied sufficient acceleration throughout the journey and experienced no more issues. After let the vehicle idle for around 5 hours, I attempted to drive it around the block and saw that it is experiencing the same issue of limited forward movement. It seems similar to the sensation of a sliding clutch in a manual car. Although there are no illuminated indicators on the dashboard, my buddy has kindly offered to lend me his diagnostic scanner tomorrow in the expectation that it would reveal any potential issues. However, I am certain that resolving the problem will need the expertise of a professional. Has anybody else experienced this previously? I have made a reservation to go to Germany in a few weeks and I am feeling really anxious.
bvlenci
When was the gearbox most last serviced?
TDudette
The car's service history is not fully documented by Mercedes. It is a 2014 model with 58,000 km on the odometer. I will verify the information promptly upon my arrival at home.
TDudette
Currently, I am examining my records and I have one entry from 2017 with a mileage of 31,000. Additionally, the oil and filter were recently replaced. My visual perception is limited, thus I believe that the alteration has occurred just once. ForumGuru
I would check the amount of oil in the gearbox.
TDudette
Indeed, it is much delayed. I had mistakenly believed that it was completed not too long ago. I have just purchased an authentic repair kit that includes new bolts. I will now do some research to find the appropriate torque values. ForumGuru
I did not want to do a full service, but rather to only inspect the oil level. To do so, you will need to purchase a dipstick and a new red cap.
Motoman
The gearbox model is 722.9, which does not have a dipstick.

developer
I recommend postponing the use of the servicing kit until you have verified the oil level. I would also ensure that you thoroughly examine the trouble codes by using a diagnostic tool capable of reading all the gearbox codes comprehensively. Possibly due to insufficient oil, however there seems to be an issue with the MCT (torque converter replacement) in my opinion.
