BEERMAN
When we go shopping, we often leave our two enormous dogs in our 2018 E class Estate vehicle with the windows up. However, if it begins to rain, the windows automatically shut, which leaves the dogs without any air. This is against the law. What is the best method to prevent the windows from closing, even if it means allowing rain to enter, because we will only be gone for a short period of time? PixelMaster
Do you happen to have the sunroof slightly open as well?
ForumGuru
Have you consulted the manual? The previous explanation said that the ventilation position included partially closing the sunroof and lifting it up at the back to allow for airflow. If a rising window is obstructed, it is likely that the function will be deactivated. Therefore, it is possible to obstruct the rain sensor or place an object, such as a cork, on top of the side window pane. This will trigger the system to detect the obstruction. However, it is important to note that certain models may also close the window in extreme outside temperatures or after a predetermined number of hours. There is a typographical error. PixelMaster
I inquired about the behaviour of the windows when the sunroof is tilted to vent. Specifically, I wanted to know whether the windows completely shut in this scenario.
BEERMAN
Regrettably, we do not own a sunroof.
BEERMAN
There is no sunroof in our possession.
bvlenci
Have you contemplated the possibility of not securing the car?
PixelMaster
Under such circumstances, the windows need to be closed partially, allowing for a small opening to facilitate airflow. Are you certain that they are completely closing?
Blu_Ray_UK2007
Have you contemplated the possibility of leaving the vehicle unlocked? Does it not have an auto-lock feature? My device does have that limitation. However, I believe there is a method to circumvent it. Would you want to enable the 'tow away' function? Is that a viable option?
jennycarlotta
If the door remains unopened for 30 seconds after being unlocked, it will automatically relock. If you unlock and subsequently open the door, then shut it again, it should remain in an unlocked state.
bvlenci
Are the windows partially open, or just slightly open? Leaving the automobile windows open beyond a small opening does not enhance the vehicle's security even if it is locked. Based on the information provided, it seems that the dogs you have are not easily stealable, else you would not leave them alone in a vehicle with open windows. BEERMAN
Due to the size of our Labrador and Newfoundland, they are sufficiently enough to deter any potential theft attempts. We considered concealing the sensor on the windscreen, but there is a risk of it being displaced. Therefore, we may need to use gaffer tape as a solution. Typically, we slightly open the windows by around 3 inches to allow the dogs to get a little amount of fresh air.
