Is it prudent to take the risk of purchasing an R230 SL350 with just partial service history?

It has been some time since I separated from my prior 03 R230 SL350, but I am considering returning to it. I am aware that there are larger engine options available, but the 350 fulfils all my requirements without the complexities of the ABC suspension found in the V8 vehicles. I have seen an advertisement for this automobile, and although it first seems appealing, there are a few concerns that trouble me. Specifically, I am drawn to the car's panoramic roof, heated and ventilated seats, and the optional 18-inch 5-spoke wheels.
Nevertheless, the vehicle's service history is only partially documented. Additionally, it is equipped with mismatched and improperly suited tyres. The front discs exhibit significant scoring, and it seems to be without a wind deflector. It is possible that I may have overlooked additional issues that others may notice.
I would welcome the insights of people more knowledgeable than myself. Does anybody own information on this particular car?

I am willing to spend a higher price for a vehicle with low miles and fewer previous owners, provided that it has been well-maintained. The majority of these automobiles are second or third vehicles that are only utilised during the summer, making it very easy to discover a much superior option.

Agreed. Proceed forward without stopping. There is a significant number of SL350 vehicles available that have been little used and well maintained. Please allocate sufficient time to locate a superior alternative.

It is illogical to save a significant amount of money on the initial purchase if you end up spending a similar amount on other expenses like as discs, tyres, service, bodywork, and adjustments.

I inquired about the Mercedes SL350 at Allon White Sports Cars. I like the appealing colour combination and the vehicle's low mileage. However, I am disappointed to see that there have been 10 prior owners, which raises concerns. Additionally, the service history supplied in the form of a spreadsheet did not instill trust in me, and the MOT history is inconsistent.
I am not in a hurry. My present A4 3.0 quattro cabriolet is likely one of the finest in terms of condition, service history, and limited number of previous owners. I am the third owner, but the mileage of 126k may be regarded somewhat high.

I appreciate the colour! I came close to purchasing an SL500 in that same hue. After completing the test drive, the vendor informed me that they had just sold the item to a buddy over the phone.

There are several owners of 20-year-old convertibles, but, there are also rare instances of "garage queen" automobiles with little mileage and few previous owners.

It is worthwhile to examine the disparities shown during the 2006 Facelift. Although Joe Public may not see the difference, MB has included several enhancements to rectify the problems that had arisen in the previous vehicles.

I like the Audi 3.0 quattro, especially its early models. What a magnificent phenomenon. The ideal individual will enthusiastically pursue that opportunity. However, would the cost be a determining factor for you?

Was the 2006 facelift model only offered with the 3.5 engine instead of the 3.7? I vaguely remember hearing about issues with cam chains or tensioners in the 3.5 engines. Additionally, doesn't the road fund licence increase to roughly £700?

Precise information, precise information. Indeed, there is an additional £300 included in the purchase to cover the Road Fund Licence (RFL).

The price of £10,000 is rather reasonable considering that there are three owners, the car has been updated, and it has only been driven for half the usual km. It is difficult to find any faults with this offer.

Engage in a conversation with your independent source, although I would bet that they would argue that the bug-fixed makeover causes less inconvenience compared to the previous model as a whole.

By the way, exercise caution about the ride comfort while using large wheels.

The vehicle I possessed before was an R129 SL320, which had 19-inch wheels. However, I decided to replace them because of their appearance. I must admit that I am pretty frugal, even if I only have one car and don't use it much each year. I find it difficult to accept paying a significant amount of money to the government for a car that remains parked in my garage.

Indeed, I followed a similar course of action with my own vehicle. I removed the 19" wheels and replaced them with a set of the original standard factory wheels, which I had restored to their original condition. As a result, the car's handling and overall driving performance have much improved. (Cosy)

I too resent paying the additional road tax, so I intentionally acquired a vehicle manufactured before 2006.
