had considered upgrading my 2011 E91 320d to an F31 335d before to the pandemic, but the prices escalated significantly, leading me to abandon the idea. I will not proceed with it and have requested BW Chiptune to incorporate several ponies instead.
In light of this year's MOT cautions regarding the front and rear shocks exhibiting "light misting of oil" (the front shock was leaking!) - After 154,000 miles, I have changed all four shocks (Sachs), top mounts, front control arms, drop links, and track rods. The roughness I had become accustomed to over speed humps has dissipated, resulting in a significantly more soft ride. I have invested nearly £1000, but I believe it is a prudent expenditure.
The plan involves regular oil changes and preventative maintenance, ensuring it lasts until my retirement in five years, after which I will consider investing a big sum in an alternative option.

The only alternative that appeals to me, aside from a newer 3 Series six-cylinder touring model, is a Mk7.5 Golf GTI.
