Captiva gear shifter is immobilised

I acknowledge that. The 'emergency release access' is designed to override the shift lock mechanism. -
Captiva gear shifter is immobilised
MrGreedy replied to Blu_Ray_UK2007's topic in General Discussions
I no longer own my Captiva, so I cannot verify physically; nevertheless, some car models include a subtle, almost imperceptible pop-out or snap-in cover on the shift console. This enables the insertion and manipulation of an appropriate instrument, such as a screwdriver, to facilitate release. Please verify whether you possess this function. -
The adaptive main beam has ceased functioning.

My device is very sensitive to variations in light levels, ambient illumination, illumination from other vehicles, and reflections from road signs. However, I trust you have considered this if you have had it for an extended period. -

I concluded that the issue was the Terminal 87 Relay. I question if it incurs much expense, thus it may be prudent to begin with what the original poster saw as the answer. -

I have verified all your statements, although I remain doubtful when I believe I have completely bled a system. I will attempt it again, since pockets of air might unexpectedly emerge despite a consistent flow of water before. Do you possess any information about the loose connection I am experiencing? The cable is around 6 inches and originates from a harness attached to the mounting bracket of the intake manifold. The last wire from this harness connects to the VANOS solenoid.

Hello. My 2013 Mini Cooper is displaying a code for the thermostat. P0128. The thermostat has been replaced, nevertheless the problem persists. The fan activates immediately upon starting the vehicle and continues to operate for about 10 minutes after shutdown. Identically to its function prior to the thermostat replacement. I just replaced the head gasket and timing chain due to a ruptured freeze plug. I discovered a loose junction with orange and white wires behind the intake manifold. I cannot locate a nearby hookup for it, and my schematics indicate it should be for the friction wheel; however, my vehicle is not the electric version. However, given that this is on the same circuit as the thermostat, it leads me to believe the problems are interconnected. Are there any recommendations from the experts available? Is there a method to reset the ECU to enable recognition of the new thermostat or a similar component? Thank you.

No, the ride on my new GR Sport (2.0/20” wheels) is excellent, despite the inconsistencies in UK road surfaces. I have not accumulated many kilometres so far, but I have driven the vehicle on various roads, including A roads, for almost 50 miles, and the ride is pleasant and well-damped.

To maintain the accuracy of the speedometer, you must first determine the desired wheel size and then choose the appropriate tires that have the same aspect ratio and rolling diameter. Below is a reliable website for doing comparisons: https://www.oponeo.co.uk/tools/tyre-size-calculator/235-50-r20

Please note that it will reactivate automatically the next time the vehicle is started.

The specifications of the automobile were almost identical to mine, with the exception that I had a unique colour. The price of my sticker was $230,695. I estimate that the price of this item was likely about $220,000 based on its tag. The vehicle had a depreciation of $10,000 over a distance of 3,500 miles. Acceptable.

The auction took place a few months ago. The car's mileage was around 3500 miles. The vehicle in question was a quattro coupe.

Please be patient. With the increasing prevalence of electric vehicles, our North American V10 engines will face significant challenges.

For those who have installed non-original exhaust systems

Feel free to attempt it, since it has no value. -
Impressive! Considering the significant production and distribution of aircraft seats by Recaro, it is quite likely that a majority of individuals have sat on a Recaro seat at some point, even if they were unaware of it. According to the linked article, the bankruptcy filing exclusively pertains to the automobile seats division of the firm. Nevertheless, it is a regrettable loss.

At a distance of 8 nanometres, it would be very difficult to break a matchstick. Which torque wrench are you utilising? It is precisely tightened with a 1/4" drive ratchet.

Recall issued for EGR in BMW 2 Series! The year 2024
MrGreedy replied to MrGreedy's topic in General Discussions
The fix is expected to be rather expensive, maybe costing a few thousand dollars at an independent shop. The car's value, after repaired, is barely 4k when selling it to a firm. Currently, I have received a quotation of £1,500 for the junk. Even if I repair it, the total cost remains the same, not to mention the additional inconvenience of towing costs. I would like to wait and continue making my regular payments. When the settlement amount decreases, I can then sell it for scrap and use the proceeds to pay off the remaining balance. If anybody is interested in purchasing, you are very welcome. I parked in my driveway. -
Recall issued for EGR in BMW 2 Series! The year 2024
MrGreedy replied to MrGreedy's topic in General Discussions
I purchased the vehicle when it had around 69,000 miles on it, and it presently has roughly 82,000 miles. I made the purchase in December of 2022. I have not invested a significant amount of money on it (just replaced the brake discs once). Recently, it successfully passed the MOT without any recommendations. When I purchased the vehicle from the Vauxhall dealer, I was the second owner and it came with a full service history (FSH). By the way, I just inspected the oil and it seemed to be completely depleted to me, despite the computer indicating that the engine level was OK. Consequently, I have just added 5 litres of oil. Attempted to initiate the engine, successfully started but thereafter ceased operation within a brief duration. There is an excessive amount of white smoke emanating from the oil cap when it is removed. BMW has declined to provide coverage for the issue. They have said that they need to conduct an investigation, and if it is determined that the issue is not due to a recall, I will be responsible for the cost of the inquiry. However, I am almost certain, with a 99% confidence level, that it is unrelated to the recall, despite experiencing all four symptoms. I currently have a vehicle financing settlement of £7,000. I am continuing to make monthly payments as usual. Undecided on whether to purchase a BMW. In order to verify this, I shall inquire about the expense. Alternatively, might I consider taking it to a reputable independent BMW specialist? I need to have it hauled. -
Greetings, gentlemen. I own a 2014 BMW 2 Series Active Tourer with a 2.0 Diesel engine and 72,000 km on it. Received a correspondence from BMW a few months ago about the issue with the EGR system. The message outlined the potential symptoms that I may see. A warning light indicating low engine coolant is illuminated. The driver is presented with a warning message indicating a problem with the check engine and/or drivetrain. While driving, you encounter a power decrease from the engine. The presence of exhaust fumes and a high-pitched sound emanating from the engine compartment. Smoke is being produced in the engine area. I had the abrupt onset of four symptoms, which caused me to break down soon after while driving on a road after exiting the motorway. The vehicle was successfully transported to Sytner BMW Leicester for recovery. Prior to examining the issue, they attempted to convey to me that it is unlikely to be a recall-related problem and also neglected to provide a courtesy vehicle. One day later, I received a phone call from a woman who said that the issue was unrelated to a recall. Even if it were, we are unable to address it since it seems that your engine, turbo, and timing chain need inspection. Additionally, the oil in your engine is too viscous. I have returned the automobile to my driveway, and it is evident that it does not start. Conducted extensive research on forums and the Internet and discovered that I am not the only one facing this issue. Upon contacting BMW Customer service, they expressed surprise at the repair center's refusal to assist me despite my suffering the symptoms. They advised me to promptly return the vehicle to the service facility. However, the centre declined. I am now receiving constant calls and emails from both BMW customer support and the servicing centre. Sytner refuses to take responsibility for the issue and has failed to accurately diagnose the automobile. Furthermore, they have not included any error codes in the report. The vehicle has been in excellent mechanical condition since I purchased it a year and a half ago from a Vauxhall dealership. It came with a complete service history and I am the second owner. I have not performed maintenance on it yet, but other than that, there are no problems. Has anybody else had similar problems? Currently, there are 7 recalls posted on the government website. Thank you.

Introducing a state-of-the-art carbon fibre steering wheel.
MrGreedy replied to DreamWeaver's topic in General Discussions
This steering wheel was custom-made for my CL55 Kompressor by Jack at Royal Steering Wheels some years ago. Based on my diminishing recollection, the amount was below £400.
