  1. Many individuals may prefer to remain with the original tyre brand fitted to their vehicle; but, as long as different brands are not mixed on the same axle, there should be no issues, particularly as you seem to be considering premium brands that are appropriately specified for your automobile.
  2. Abandoning the vehicle for two weeks would not precipitate this issue, since I have already experienced it without leaving the car. Furthermore, I have verified that the battery is functioning well; it is just two years old and still under a three-year guarantee. I suspect a wiring failure or poor connection to one of the modules, since it has become very intermittent.
  3. This is an update: I drove the vehicle yesterday, and the only warning shown was an ABS issue. After a 15-minute trip to the shops, I attempted to drive home, and all faults were disappeared. However, I checked this morning, and they have reappeared. There is a very sporadic malfunction present.
  4. Greetings, I left my vehicle at the airport for two weeks while on vacation. Prior to this, I had similar issues a few weeks previously, which the independent mechanic was able to reset. The car started without incident last night, but after driving around one mile, the dashboard illuminated with several error messages, including ESP, SRS, ABS, and others. During my previous visit to the independent mechanic, they were initially unable to establish communication with the vehicle. However, after some manipulation, they successfully reset and rebooted all the modules, resulting in the disappearance of the problems. The car functioned well until last night at the airport. I am seeing several ESP/ABS errors on the dashboard, the brake hold function is nonfunctional, the cruise control is inoperative, and the engine fan operates continuously while the engine is running. Additionally, I often set my lights to "Auto," but last night the vehicle prompted me to turn them off, which has not occurred before. Has anybody experienced this, and what conclusions did you draw? Salutations
  5. I get my AMG serviced at Brooklands, which has just been acquired by Hedin, and they still seem satisfactory. The primary reason I first selected Brooklands was their provision of AMG driving training, which ensures they consistently service AMGs. get used to maintaining them and resolving any related difficulties (I have not yet had to do that! 🤞)
  6. Thank you for the recommendation about the tires: it is equipped with four new Dunlop tyres of uniform size and equal pressures.
  7. I want assistance on my ABS issue. My vehicle is a 1990 S124 300E 24-valve automatic, and a yellow ABS warning light activates on the dashboard when the speed exceeds around 5 mph. The ABS light remains off if the speed is maintained below this threshold. The vehicle brakes well, exhibiting no trembling or pedal oscillation in the last meters of stopping, as is sometimes seen. I have just retrieved the vehicle from a nearly two-month tenure at a Mercedes Benz specialist, where they were unable to identify the malfunction. Below is a compilation of the completed tasks: The rear ABS sensor was replaced due to degraded wiring and a seized sensor within the differential housing. The front nearside ABS sensor was also replaced as it generated a low voltage (0.5v) when the wheel was manually rotated. The ABS control module was temporarily substituted with one from a fault-free vehicle, and all relays were replaced temporarily with those from a car exhibiting no faults. Additionally, all wiring to the sensors was verified to be intact, with no breaks in continuity c The front reluctor rings have been sanitised. Essentially, with the exception of the ABS pump, the system has been substituted with either new components or those shown to be functional from an operational vehicle. All brake pads are almost intact, and the fluid is new. Although I am not a specialist in ABS systems, the fact that the ABS light activates only when reaching a certain speed indicates to me that the issue is likely sensor-related, hence I am hesitant to replace the ABS pump. Has anybody had comparable issues? What was the resolution to the issue?
  8. Valid observation. Particularly considering that the sump will be extracted and sanitised. I hypothesise that a drain after an extensive run will extract a greater quantity of sludge and debris, supposing that, when cold, part of it may settle in different locations beyond the sump.
  9. One aspect I like about (particularly vintage) Mercedes is their thoughtful design approach to automobiles. Similar to how the window switch lighting ceases when the rear windows are deactivated, or the little blind that descends in the middle of the screen on a W124. Both minor and major elements are significant.
  10. I have updated many times while driving. On one instance, I stopped to fill and shut off the vehicle; the update proceeded seamlessly when restarting.
  11. Apologies, I was referring to the program. I mentioned OTA updates, for which I am entitled to two complimentary services; however, they also said that I may schedule further updates if I make a booking.
  12. My dealer informed me last week that while my vehicle was undergoing service, they would do two upgrades for me free of charge. They verified that I had appropriately upgraded the latest firmware, which I accomplished.
  13. I agree with this. I completed the upgrade on my 72 plate last week, and everything was satisfactory. Furthermore, once completing the newest update, you can anticipate receiving two further complimentary upgrades from the dealer when the time arrives.
