I read a wide variety of topics when I initially arrived on this site. I thought there was a story concerning a passenger side leak? I believe it was the windscreen rubber, but I'll have to check into it and get back to you. I will try to locate it for you.
  4. It all started with the screen and radio acting up, and eventually they just stopped working altogether. Additionally, the heater doesn't always work. After some time has passed with the engine running, it will turn on. I can't figure out where the car's serious leak is coming from; water collects primarily beneath the passenger seat. The electrical issues have me wondering if the mysterious leak is to blame. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you ahead of time.
  5. The gearbox won't shift to seventh gear until you reach 75 mph or above, according to an update that was applied to some vehicles for "emissions" reasons. Typically, the dealer will take care of this while the vehicle is in their care, and the owner is never informed.

Going from sixth to seventh gear at forty miles per hour in comfort mode is par for the course.   7. Do you really think it won't alter at speeds of 75 mph or more? It was aggravating, but not a defect, that my own MB 7G auto wouldn't shift up until I was travelling at least 70 mph.
  8. Hello there, I have been experiencing issues with the automatic gearbox in my C class, which has logged 38,500 kilometres. Unless you utilise the paddles on the steering wheel, the automatic transmission will not change up from sixth gear to seventh gear and beyond. As expected, the gearbox shifts down, and up and down movement of the paddle shifters produces the desired effect. After driving on the self-learning cycle, the issue of not being able to shift into seventh speed at around 40mph reappears, even after resetting the automatic gearbox. I was informed by a Mercedes specialist that this model does not require a fluid replacement until 75,000 miles, however the automatic gearbox has not been serviced or changed since it was new. I had similar issue last year, but it went away in the late summer after a particularly warm spell. Now it's back. A scanner from the local garage, an Autel Maxisys 908s, detected four suspicious wheel speed signals—one for each wheel. Based on my little exploration of the web, I have discovered multiple instances of W205 auto gearboxes failing to engage in 2019 models. Does anybody have any ideas as to whether the issue is with the sensors or the software, and how much it will probably cost to fix it? Would appreciate any suggestions for an independent MB specialist (within a reasonable distance from Northwich, Cheshire) with an appropriate Star system who can diagnose the problem and fix it the first time around; I'm thinking of taking my car in for diagnostics. Even when the engine temperature is normal, the electric cooling fan continues to run after shutting off the engine, which is another intermittent defect. This seems to begin occurring after driving through numerous puddles. It seems to be a winter issue; I experienced the same thing last year, but it went away in the summer. Maybe Mercedees are starting to hate our rainy season. Though my two issues pale in comparison to the ones that Mr. Starmer is presently facing, I would really appreciate any feedback you could provide.

Avoid putting undue strain on your finances by sticking to your budget. It has never been a concern of mine to stay abreast of the Joneses. I had fantasies about owning a Porsche a few years ago—and I could totally afford one—but I quickly realised that the "Running cost" would put it out of my price range.I ended up purchasing a Puma instead :(.

  15. My steering column's expansion during telescope operation was the subject of a service visit yesterday. I received a quote for $430 when I made the appointment. The estimate was changed to zero the day prior to the visit. Incorrect factory lubrication, according to the Service Advisor, caused a spate of columns to start making a growling sound. The noise disappeared as soon as the new steering column was lengthened. Upon returning home, I became aware of a distinct sound produced whenever the steering wheel was turned. They corrected it in under 20 minutes after I drove the half an hour back to the service center. They brought it in straight immediately. Rash was caused by the plastic moulding. Fixing it quickly.
  16. My 2025 Tesla Model 3, which is 8 months old and has 5,600 miles on it, is also experiencing the same issue. There is no one available to answer my question about whether this is covered by warranty because I submitted a service request on a weekend. Some $235 is the "estimate"! Enquiring about if this will fall under warranty or incur actual costs, I included a message. Weekend spent anticipating Monday's response.
  17. When the car was at a stop and the Easy Entry option was engaged, the only time I heard the noise was when the steering column was telescoped up or down. I'm relieved I refrained from trying to lube anything.
  18. I experienced some initial stiffness during turns, but it seemed to "break in" and then disappear after a while; nevertheless, I have not heard any steering noises whatsoever. There were no visible physical flaws when the Service Center examined it.
  19. Under Tesla's warranty, I had the steering column replaced not long ago. For months, I endured the groaning, grinding, and vibrating sound. I searched through other threads concerning same concerns, but it appeared as though I was simply the unfortunate one. That I refrained from attempting any sort of "repair" speaks volumes. The temperature within the automobile and the surrounding weather had no effect on the occurrence of this noise. The replacement process took only a few hours, and the Service Advisor seemed to have prior knowledge of the problem. I am simply posting this to inform you.
