bvlenci
Greetings everyone, I have just had the rear subframe of my 2014 E63 estate inspected by Epsom MB. I undertook this action under the recommendation of my MB expert (SS Motors) after my MOT, which noted corrosion as an advised issue. MB Epsom is replacing the subframe at no cost as a gesture of goodwill, which I find quite gratifying. I have been scheduled as the components are available. The inquiry pertains to the supplementary components to be substituted when the frame is removed. I have been informed of new bolts, brake line repair, and bushings. Has anybody completed all of those tasks, or is it really a matter of having MB rebuild the subframe? Will they substitute the bushes with new ones or retain the existing ones? Has anybody installed polyurethane bushings to enhance rigidity further? Was riding comfort influenced by such factors? Thank you.
bvlenci
This is the first AMG from an M5 enthusiast, and it will not be the last.
AMG33D
Successful outcome in obtaining the subframe replacement at no cost. It is regrettable that a ten-year-old vehicle need this. Upon disassembly, the dealer may discover worn components, prompting an inquiry on their replacement "while they are accessible." I am sceptical that Mercedes would install anything other than original equipment parts during reassembly. Delighted to hear you are enjoying your E63. I cherished mine and continue to miss it. Paulinelinker
If the air springs are original, I would consider replacing them at the age of 10 years, since their lifespan is likely nearing its end.
bvlenci
Thank you; I believe I will await their findings and concur that they are unlikely to accommodate original equipment components.
SkippyTom
My subframe was replaced free of charge in November 2023. I spoke with the service technician about other changes, and he said, "Approximately £200 worth of bushes and bolts will also be replaced," leading me to conclude that all of them were changed. The vehicle had its MOT in December 2023, and the assessment indicated that all components seemed pristine and in excellent condition underneath. The rear brake lines were replaced in 2022, thus they did not need servicing. A four-wheel alignment was performed on the day I retrieved the vehicle. No documentation available for the handover. quietly discreet
clk320x4
I had my 2012 W212 serviced at Alex Crow on Monday; the subframe seems to be in excellent condition. I wish that were not the case, as I would love to get it changed prior to selling it! Particularly now, the vehicle has reached 208,000 miles! I was not anticipating another oil cooler leak. ML350_Colin
What are the mileages and ages of these two oil cooler leaks, my friend? The latest figure is now 208,000.
