Screwdriver_1
Hello, my adaptive main beam has ceased functioning. It operated correctly at the beginning of the year during gloomy mornings and early nights, but it is no longer activating. The stalk is positioned forward, displaying the 'A' on the instrument cluster, with no warning lights illuminated on the dashboard indicating a defect. Has anybody else seen this or have any recommendations about the potential cause of its failure to activate? Furthermore, my primary beam operates manually, indicating that the problem is not related to the bulb.
bvlenci
It is only a consideration, but my devices do not function below a certain velocity. Are you travelling at a enough pace to activate them?
Screwdriver_1
Indeed, I have travelled at a sufficient speed; it is rather peculiar.
MrGreedy
My device is very sensitive to variations in light levels, ambient illumination, illumination from other vehicles, and reflections from road signs. However, I trust you have considered this if you have had it for an extended period.
Screwdriver_1
Indeed, I traverse unlit roads each morning at a sufficient speed, necessitating the activation of the high beam, as occurred earlier this year.
Craigbelont
I acquired my automobile in August, and due to the diminishing daylight, Saturday was my first experience driving it at night, hence I am only now acclimating to this aspect. Have you perhaps unplugged the battery since it was functioning at the beginning of the year? Have you attempted to disable and then re-enable the option in the settings? Is the region of the windscreen next to the sensor free of obstructions? Have you lately had a new windscreen installed?
Screwdriver_1
I have not unplugged the battery at any point. I have adjusted the stalk forward and backward to test its functionality, but it remains ineffective. The windscreen is consistently clean, since I get the vehicle washed often, and there is also no new windscreen installed.
Craigbelont
A distinct configuration exists in my dashboard, located under 'Settings' -> 'Light', to enable this function so that it activates when the stalk is in the forward position. When the functionality is off, the stalk functions as a manual main beam. Have you attempted to deactivate the function in the settings and then reactivate it? Screwdriver_1
I have reviewed my settings and can only locate the option to activate or disable the adaptive main beam. I appreciate your proposal, anyway.
Craigbelont
That is the context to which I was alluding. Have you attempted to toggle it off and then on again, maybe in conjunction with switching it off and on at the stalk? Thus: disable it in the settings, manually activate the lights, control the main beam with the stalk, revert the lights to Automatic, and then re-enable the function in the settings? I do not assert that this will be effective; I only provide it as a recommendation. Occasionally, rebooting devices may resolve issues (e.g. folding mirrors may need a manual cycle after battery disconnection).
jimmy47785
I had similar issue with my E-Class while the auxiliary battery was failing. The hold function on the footbrake has ceased to operate, and the green indicator for the stop-start system is likewise nonfunctional. I am uncertain if your A class is equipped with an auxiliary battery. Utilise a QR application on your mobile device to scan the QR sticker located on post B. It will display the position of batteries.
