ODB2 reader triggers "Mercedes Me services limited" error

Greetings everyone,

Connecting or leaving my ODB2 reader (generic Bluetooth adapter) results in an error/warning on the dashboard stating "Mercedes Me services limited."

It seems to create no more problems; nonetheless, I am curious about the reason for this occurrence, since I want to maintain the connection to an application I own (the application just reads, without writing).

In previous vehicles, I have been able to maintain a connection without any consequences.

Do you have any suggestions?

Consider using an alternative Bluetooth OBDII reader. They are sufficiently inexpensive. The majority use the same ELM327 chip.

Is it OK for the device to be connected without any application running?
If the issue occurs just during or subsequent to the execution of your application, it is likely related to the data being sent. You assert that you are only reading data; nevertheless, the operation of OBD necessitates a data request, indicating that the device is transmitting data.
I am unfamiliar with the functionality of Mercedes Me; nonetheless, using any diagnostic services to address other modules may lead to complications if another device is transmitting concurrent queries.

My assumption is that the warning exists (maybe) to deter anyone from attaching the obsolete Mercedes Me Adapter to the OBDII port.

Notably, the problem only manifests while the Torque application is active; it does not occur when no applications are running. Therefore, it seems that the issue is not with the adapter itself, but rather with the Torque app causing some disruption.
