Paqngo
Hello, I would want some advise on how to remove the pinch bolt located in the lower part of the suspension strut in order to lower the hub and get access to remove the wheel bearing assembly. The nut was easily removed, but the bolt remains immovable. I am now asking if it is threaded through the body or whether it has splines and requires forceful removal. I would much appreciate any information provided before I do damage to the automobile or endanger myself.
IrvesBMW
Apply a generous amount of plus gas to thoroughly saturate it overnight. Assuming that the bolt has a standard head, utilise a socket and breaker bar to attempt to initiate its movement. Subsequently, gently tap it to remove it. Paqngo
Thank you for the information. IrvesBMW, does it imply that it is not securely fastened inside the hub, but only requires loosening before being removed?
IrvesBMW
Indeed, it is accurate.

drummer
When I replaced the wheel bearings on my 640d, I did not need to loosen the pinch bolt. To access the bolts located at the rear of the hub, it is necessary to detach a lower ball joint from one of the arms. However, I am uncertain about the specific model of your device. As Johnny suggests, apply a generous amount of penetrant and allow it to soak. Greetings
Paqngo
My car is a 530d and the strut obstructs access to 2 of the hub bolts, requiring it to be shifted about 4 inches. I will try again tomorrow. Thank you drummer
