I am contemplating purchasing used tires for my vehicle in order to save expenses, but, I have reservations about their safety and dependability. Has anybody in this group have firsthand experience with used tires?

Are there any particular factors I should be cautious about while purchasing them? I have seen divergent viewpoints - some assert that they are an excellent means of economising, whilst others caution about possibly concealed impairments and reduced longevity.

I would highly appreciate any guidance on trustworthy dealers or suggestions for doing thorough inspections of tires.

Although it is not to my own preference, I do not criticise or dismiss them.
Inspect for any necessary repairs and also check the date code to ensure that you do not purchase outdated tires.

Every individual who has purchased a pre-owned vehicle has inherently acquired partially used tires.

I own a collection of 20-inch wheels specifically designed for my E91 vehicle. I have acquired two sets of Michelin Pilotsport 4S tires on eBay, each priced at little more than £75 a tire. These tires come with a tread depth of 5-6mm, but their original retail price is £250 per tire.
I often monitor eBay and purchase them in pairs whenever they become available.

As mentioned by @TDud ette, it is a really practical approach - I have acquired a considerable number of winter tires using this method over the years. It is important to note that winter tires begin to lose their effectiveness once the tread depth reaches 4mm. Many people choose to sell their tires at this point. Therefore, it is not advisable to spend a significant amount of money on 4mm winter tires, as they may not have much usable life remaining.

I agree with the concerns about the date code, and it is important to ensure that the product remains within a timeframe of less than 10 years.

If the merchant is reputable, I have used their services without encountering any problems. Exercise caution, since there are several sellers offering tires with subpar repairs and damage to the tire walls, which is unacceptable.

I had not previously considered that perspective, but you are correct.
I am now contemplating the fact that one of my three vehicles has two tires exhibiting signs of sidewall splitting. I have a preference for Uniroyal tires and unfortunately, their prices have increased. This particular automobile is mostly used on bingo outings.
