CodeCrusader
Greetings, everyone. I am curious to know whether it is possible to get the air conditioning system recharged at any location or if it must be done specifically at a Kia dealership. My air conditioning unit is not providing chilly air and is just producing a breeze similar to that of a fan. Neither warm nor beneficial on a hot day. I own a 2020 Niro Hybrid. I have come across information stating that hybrid vehicles need certain fluids and that some air conditioning re-gas facilities do not provide services for hybrids. Rojoires
Indeed, it is possible to use gas, but it is crucial to ensure that the gas used is appropriate and suitable. If the product is defective, it is advisable to seek warranty repair.
badgx
An air conditioning professional will encounter no difficulties. All air conditioning systems use the same sorts of fluid. Hybrids are indistinguishable. The battery coolant is distinct.
CodeCrusader
I failed to consider the option of seeking out an air conditioning professional. I was considering a place such as Kwik Fit and saw several advertisements on Groupon. I believe I will need to do a search on Google. I am uncertain about the current market price for a refrigerant recharge.
CodeCrusader
Greetings, Thank you for responding. I presume that it only need a re-gas and does not have an issue with the condenser. I suppose that if that were the case, it would emit heated air. I have a Vauxhall vehicle that exhibited such behaviour some years ago. If the leak is a result of damage, it is not covered by the guarantee. What would be the cost of repairing that? Kia provided me with a quotation of £125 for a re-gas, I believe. Rojoires
The rate is essentially standard. Failure to use the air conditioning system results in the contraction of the seals, leading to the escape of the gas. Regas contains a fluid that aids in the resealing and repair of the system's seals.
Screwdriver_1
The air conditioning eco mode in my e-niro is much less efficient compared to the usual setting. Is it worth investigating?
badgx
Exclusively on electric vehicles. It does not apply to hybrids.
CodeCrusader
Is there no Air Con Eco-Mode available in the hybrid model?
ianwh4
The key to maintaining an air conditioning system is to consistently utilise it, otherwise its functionality may deteriorate. The seals dry out due to lack of usage, resulting in leakage. While it is possible to have the seals recharged, the fix is not a long-lasting solution. The mine operates continuously, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
