Requesting information about body weatherstripping.

Recommended Posts

First issue: I visited the car wash a few days ago and when drying my vehicle, I noticed that the roof moulding on the driver's side, which is responsible for diverting rainwater, was slightly lifted. I pulled it down again, but I am not too enthusiastic about sections that are exposed to the weather being "pushed back down". I like to completely replace both. Is there a part number available for these items and how easy are they to install?

Second concern: I want a specific component number for the weather stripping located inside the driver side door. This weather stripping is the one that comes into contact with your garments while entering the front seats, causing the rubber to wear away.

The following:

Although I have made attempts to use Google, the problem arises when I lack the precise terminology to search for the information I want. There are several components such as moulding, weather stripping, trim, and rubber trim.

This is the reason why I have not yet discovered what I need.

Thank you in advance!

Durable moulding and trim components may be found on all types of contemporary automobiles.

Frequently, they are equally difficult to get, fresh, and promptly for an autobody business and its typical supply methods, just like for any other individual.

Therefore, they perform the task of cleaning and reapplying the current ones.

Search for information about "Bean-e-Doo". The creator provides an explanation of the methods and reasons behind their work.
You may get "Goo Gone," a product for smaller tasks, in the kitchen area of large retail shops or at autoparts stores. CAVEAT: "Goo Gone" is a more potent and fast-acting solution compared to Bean-e-Doo, but it has the potential to harm plants and other objects as well.

Be cautious and avoid using solvent products that are well-known for causing damage to paint, such as "Goof Off" which contains a significant amount of Toluene.

There are many new "body moulding adhesives" available, but a large number of these things were originally installed at the factory using high-quality double-sided tape. Therefore, using the same kind of tape again is not a makeshift solution. By specifying "industrial grade," I meant that stealing from the school supplies area at the Dollar store would not provide you with the desired level of durability.

Both surfaces must be free of dirt or impurities.
Refer to the information provided before.

A heat-gun with thermoluminescent dosimetry (TLC) may effectively rectify bends and some types of kinks, albeit not all.

The seals and edging on the driver's side door are prone to chronic wear and tear. As cars age or are involved in accidents, these parts progressively become unavailable and eventually go out of stock.

Locating this one should not be too difficult, nevertheless.

The 'simple' version you have shown may need trimming to fit from a supply of general-purpose materials. Apply the heat gun once more in order to create bends.

Well done for taking prompt action.

Ignoring this issue does not lead to any improvement. The aesthetic appeal of reusing items is compromised when they are neglected and subjected to tearing or significant damage due to excessive movement.

Identify and emphasise each of the description/part numbers that @Matt865 just posted. Contextual menu: "Perform a Google search for.."

Discover the "the usual suspects" and get a comprehensive list of them at affordable costs, in contrast to the expenses involved in constructing your own from a basic workbench.

However, the cost is still high enough that it seems worthwhile to reattach everything that can be easily reattached in order to save money.

Installing new ones also involves substantial work, since it requires removing the old ones and thoroughly cleaning the mounting location.

I need the replacement of two door seals on my spouse's vehicle. She expressed dissatisfaction with the price of the door seals until I informed her that she could get all four door seals for the same price as a single inner door seal for my automobile. Occasionally, it is necessary to see things from a broader and more objective standpoint.

If I were to disclose to my wife the exact amount of money I spend on motorcars, there is a possibility that I may be demoted to using a push-bike as my mode of transportation.
When a Cathay Pacific passenger takes off, the retractable wheels that she like are lifted off the runway. I am now residing in London as we converse.

"Perspective" calculated the expenses over 20 years ago to demonstrate that operating an Acura Integra in Hong Kong incurred a total cost of USD 58,000 per year, with the majority of the expenses being attributed to the required parking space near her residence. Singapore remains more expensive.

Hong Kong does not suffer from a "traffic problem". Our "MTR" ensures that.

I believe they are secured in place by six clips on each side. It seems that the clips are included with the product, but they can also be bought individually.

HC1 Clip DBE500013

Weatherstrip refers to a narrow strip of material used to seal gaps and prevent the entry of air, water or dust into a building or vehicle./text
Regarding the chassis numbers, the range starts at AA000001 and the quantity is 12.

Most likely, just replacing the clips will enough to resolve the issue.
