guyskin
The crank pulley tool on my E55 is exhibiting signs of separation. I want to independently address this issue; but, in order to do so efficiently, I need a Mercedes 'crank holder tool'. Is there anybody who would be willing to sell or rent one to me in order for me to accomplish this? The component in question is 230 589 00 40 00, which is a product manufactured by Bosch. Regrettably, I am unable to locate an aftermarket variant, despite the abundance of options available for 1.8l engines that have resemblance but are inoperable. guyskin
Acceptable! That seems to be encouraging. Do you have any prior encounters with this seller? It may be worthwhile to check the pricing of the tool offered by Mercedes.
br1anuk
I have never used his services; I just searched for the component number on Google. The shipping fee for the UK is 40 Euros. It would be advisable to inquire with the official MB Club about the possibility of renting the gadget from them. However, it is important to note that joining and paying a one-year subscription fee would be required.

guyskin
I have received a response from the seller stating that this is a tool used to secure the rear subframe, rather than the M113K engine. I will verify the component number of WIS when returning home, but, I can locate several web references that confirm this to be the accurate part number. Trevorseaf
The tool is unnecessary. The crank should be securely fastened to the flywheel at the designated inspection holes.
guyskin
To provide more clarification, my purchase was first approved, but subsequently, they contacted me to inform me that it was unavailable. Thus, a dead end.
guyskin
I will investigate this matter, but it is quite challenging since I would want access underneath the vehicle. I anticipate that a more versatile locking mechanism will suffice. Does the flywheel provide any danger of damage?
Trevorseaf
Despite completing several tasks, I have not yet done so.
