Ortsmatt
Hope someone here may assist with a matter with bonnet catches, while opening and lever has returned to its place, The act of closing it is challenging since it tends to repeatedly spring back up, and the catches fail to secure it until you manipulate the wires and catches, after which it finally shuts. AMG33D
Have you attempted to lubricate the cables and mechanism as a fundamental step?
Ortsmatt
I appreciate your guidance. Do you require cable removal to perform that task? It appears to be a complex job to undertake. 🙁 Have you already encountered this task?
guyskin
One straightforward and simple solution to consider is applying WD40 to the two bonnet catches.
Ortsmatt
I will test it in various scenarios over the next several weeks. Thank you. I haven't seen any modifications. Are there any?
guyskin
I am not aware of that. I had an issue with my own. I attempted to open the bonnet, but due to a malfunctioning latch, the cable was unable to properly tighten. WD40 is used as a solution to the problem. The issue was resolved within 30 seconds and has remained problem-free for many months. 👍🏻

badgx
Have you tried applying WD40 to both ends prior to proceeding with cable replacement?
Ortsmatt
Upon inspection, I discovered that the plastic weatherproofing of the outer cable had detached in a specific area. Consequently, I opted for a replacement cable and ensured that the cabin cable was well lubricated throughout the disassembly process. Applied lubrication to the safety catch of the car's hood, since it was not functioning properly.
Ortsmatt
I inspected the cable and discovered that it had sustained damage when connecting to the lock on the left side of the vehicle.
