jennycarlotta
When I press the button to start my 2025 CHR, it does not consistently initiate, and I must shift into reverse or drive twice before the screen indicates the selected gear. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Five hundred sixteen kilometres
Motoman
Everything is satisfactory here. Is your foot on the brake?
jennycarlotta
I drove the vehicle last night, pulled over, and turned it off. It started without issue; however, I still experienced difficulty engaging the drive mode when depressing the brake. I will return to the dealer tomorrow and will update you on the outcome. CodeCrusader
A brief press of the button is sufficient to start the car, provided the brake pedal is depressed. I presume that is not your concern, but it is worth noting nonetheless. Is the parking brake configured to disengage automatically upon gear selection, or must it be disengaged manually? My device does this function automatically, although my previous generation had the option for either automatic or manual operation; I presume the second generation is similar. I am merely sharing some considerations; I hope it is a swift resolution once your return to the dealer.
jennycarlotta
I am uncertain about how that operates; could it be applied inadvertently? Mine is a 2025 model. I consistently engage the hold button and do not believe I have utilised the manual handbrake or modified any settings since it was new, having driven 516 miles since June. jennycarlotta
If I engage it manually, does it disengage automatically when I drive away?
CodeCrusader
I am uncertain; my vehicle is configured to automatically disengage when I select drive or reverse. I engage the parking brake by pressing P after I have parked. It autonomously removes it. While it may not pertain to your concerns, it is a thought that occurred to me. It is hoped that the dealer has resolved your issue satisfactorily.
Blu_Ray_UK2007
Upon pressing the button after initially disengaging, the parking brake activates when I halt and deactivates upon accelerating; I possess a 2022 model. Am I overlooking something with the second generation?
CodeCrusader
It appears you are referring to Brake Hold. It secures your brakes when you halt. I was referring to the parking brake. On your 22 model, the parking brake should engage when shifted into park and release when shifted into drive or reverse. You must configure it to perform this action, or alternatively, you can execute it manually using the parking brake button.
Blu_Ray_UK2007
Indeed, I have not engaged with it since its inception.
jennycarlotta
I returned my automobile to the dealer yesterday due to an issue related to the connections of the gear shift. There is no cause for concern, as it is scheduled for repairs next Monday.
CodeCrusader
At least they are aware of the issue, and it is being addressed. 👍
