2010 Mercedes E350 3.0 displays a "bonnet open" indication despite the bonnet being closed. Please assist with the MOT on Tuesday.

I own a 2010 Mercedes-Benz E350 with a 3.0 V6 engine. It is scheduled for the MOT on Tuesday after being unused for about 18 months.

The wipers are inoperative because the vehicle detects that the bonnet is ajar, as indicated by an open bonnet notification. Does anybody understand the reason behind this?


I must arrange it promptly since the MOT is scheduled on Tuesday. Thank you

The microswitches may need adjustment.
Open the hood and close it forcefully.
That previously stopped the notification on my W212.

Hello, thank you. I have forcefully closed the bonnet around ten times, and it still indicates that it is open. Where can I locate and access the microswitches? Thank you.

Examine the locations of the catches on the bonnet; there will be two slots in the slam panel under the microswitches.
It is unclear how they are modified. Perhaps some experimenting

Modify the bonnet catches, since they are equipped with adjusters. I had a similar problem.

If changing the bonnet is ineffective, then either disconnect the switches or short the wires as a temporary solution for testing, depending on whether the switch operates by making or breaking contact.
