Instrument for the task at hand.

Recommended Posts

Greetings, everyone.
How are you maintaining your well-being?

May I inquire, please?

In the garage (at the parents' home, parking area). We own many effective tools.

I was doing a task involving the replacement of the anti-roll bar linkage.
An 18mm ring spanner and a Torx were used to prevent the ball joint from rotating.
As you are aware, they may be troublesome, and if the holder becomes dislodged... We have had difficulties before with BMW and Mercedes.
Could you recommend any locations or companies that provide socket sets or individual sockets with a spanner head?
Similar to the go/pass-through socket.

I have seen many multi-spine options; nonetheless, I would like a 6-point configuration for a better fit, specifically 1/2 inch.

Crow's feet are effective, however they might be cumbersome to maneuver in some areas.

Thank you, everyone.

Indeed, we own crow's foot wrenches and many ratchet spanners, Petrol Pete.
The 1' items we own are excessively hefty and constructed from thick metal, which might impede the available area for their placement. The spanners are effective, although they did not provide sufficient leverage (the bolt is tight), but I ultimately succeeded.

We own many sockets of the 6-point kind that have a 6-point spanner head for ratchet attachment.
I searched online to purchase a set but was unable to locate any.
It is likely just my spectacles that are dirty. 🙂
I thought I would inquire with you all.

Thank you to everyone.

Wishing you a productive week.

They are often categorized as suspension or hub socket sets. Upon scrolling down to examine the comparable goods section, I often find that this method provides a more effective overview of available options, as opposed to direct searches, which may be less dependable for certain reasons.

Seek one that has the requisite sizes for both the socket and the Torx components. The included ratchet encircles the supplied sockets, while a separate square ratchet, owned by you, is used to operate the Torx bits.

I am very certain that a socket set exists which permits a rod to be inserted.

I just checked; I am certain they formerly had a proprietary 'Advanced' pass-through socket set, but the current set available lacks an 18mm socket.

They provide a unique 18mm ratchet spanner at a remarkable price.

Thank you for the links.

I recently saw online that the B&Q store is offering Nielsen products. We own many items from this brand, and they are satisfactory. Competent instrument at a reasonable cost.

As I said, W204... Has anybody among you replaced the anti-roll bar linkage? The one I just worked on had an 18 mm nut and a Torx-like key to prevent rotation. However, the flip was constricted, requiring just a little adjustment with each turn; I doubted my ability to succeed.
A through tool, such as a spark plug socket or a similar implement, would significantly simplify the task.
