Rashman4u
The driver's side mirror on my 2009 E350 coupe has consistently emitted a groaning noise during the folding process since I acquired the vehicle, but recently it has been experiencing difficulty in unfolding. This typically necessitates folding the mirrors using the button, opening the driver's window, and then using the button to unfold the mirrors while gently pushing the driver's mirror outward. I have previously utilised WD40; nevertheless, I believe it is necessary to completely remove and strip the mirror or replace it altogether. Has anyone encountered this issue previously, and what is the difficulty level of removing and stripping the mirror? Do you have any alternative recommendations? Rashman4u
I attempted that multiple times using WD40, but to no avail. Do you have a specific product in mind that may be more effective? Did you initially disassemble the mirror unit for improved access?
guyskin
WD-40 is inappropriate. It will eliminate any existing grease and also rinse away rapidly. thus the suggestion to utilise a spray lubricant (I employed a Lithium grease)
Rashman4u
Did you disassemble any section of the mirror for improved access, or did you merely apply spray from the exterior?
CyberNinja
WD40 is not a lubricant; it is a water repellent.
Ortsmatt
The type you possess determines the cost, as WD manufactures a variety of lubricants that are generally costly.
