Repairing R107 brakes: replacing the bearing in the carrier
ML350_Colin replied to carBlacken's topic in General Discussions
Greetings, I am now engaged in the restoration of a 450SL automobile as well. I am curious to know the ultimate resolution you arrived at for your restoration project. Additionally, would you happen to recall the specific bearing component number that you obtained in order to facilitate its replacement? Excellent work, by the way, which is really inspirational. Expressing gratitude is a customary social convention that is often used to acknowledge appreciation or recognition for a particular action or gesture. -
I have lately used the Meguiar's Ultimate Compound on a black automobile and had really favourable results.

An effective and versatile cleaning solution
ML350_Colin replied to Matt865's topic in General Discussions
The product in question is Autosmart G101. For the purpose of cleaning the exterior and engine bay, it is recommended to dilute the cleaning solution at a ratio of 10 parts water to 1 part solution. Conversely, while cleaning the inside, a dilution ratio of 20 parts water to 1 part solution is advised. Purchase 5-liter bottles from the official Autosmart shop on the online marketplace eBay. Caution should be used when dealing with alternative vendors that provide lower amounts, since there is a higher likelihood of product dilution. -
Warranty problem with a rusty subframe on a W203 coupé
ML350_Colin replied to CheresX's topic in General Discussions
The subframe of my 2013 e220 vehicle is exhibiting signs of corrosion. The vehicle had an airbag recall on March 9, 2022. During the health assessment, it was observed that the subframe exhibited signs of corrosion. The service manager expressed his intention to forward the report to the headquarters of Mercedes, since they were in the process of replacing some instances free of charge. However, no communication was received for a period of two months. Upon discovering the email address of the service manager, I proceeded to communicate my concerns over the potential hazards associated with driving the automobile, which I considered posed a risk to the safety of my family. In light of this, I kindly request assistance in obtaining a connection to the Mercedes head office, as I want to escalate my claim accordingly. I received a telephone call last week informing me that an agreement had been reached to replace the subframe in question. Please anticipate further developments in this area. -
It is possible that the object in question does not belong to the category of CLK. The seat release handles are not visible to me. Is it discernible that there is a prevailing atmosphere of tranquilly inside the business premises today?

I have not seen any relevant results on the Google picture search platform. I have come across an image depicting a CLK DTM AMG, which does not exhibit the aforementioned features. However, this phenomenon may be attributed to the pursuit of reducing weight.

If the presence of plastic trim around the perimeter of the aperture is expected, I share a similar perspective as you. I will persist in my search until I locate it.

Drenched. Please note that the model I own is an early W209, which may have variations compared to other models.

Will you really need me to go outside in inclement weather in order to investigate?

Is there a method for identifying the appropriate auto part that is compatible with your specific vehicle, given the abundance of visually similar options that may vary in terms of fitment? I hope my query is comprehensible.

I would want to ascertain if it is necessary to remove the centre console as a whole or whether it suffices to only replace the armrest lid, which has become detached. The Mercedes W203 Avantgarde SE A 1.8, manufactured in 2007, is the subject of discussion.

It is reasonable to posit that the replacement of a single bulb on either side would not provide any complications for the failure monitoring system, however the addition of an additional pair of bulbs may. The enhancements made to the Sport X, such as the installation of leather seat covers, were carried out in the United Kingdom subsequent to the vehicles' delivery. It is important to note that these vans were originally manufactured as standard 120s at the factory. There are no anticipated technical obstacles in the process of restoring the original connections. The only potential concern is to the non-operational lower foglights, which are conspicuously apparent. This issue may provide a challenge during the MOT evaluation, as previously indicated by m80.

There is a potential scepticism over the simultaneous absence of all Technicians due to vacation. It is quite unlikely that any organisation would adopt such an operational approach. The specific part you want is considered to be somewhat uncommon, making it financially impractical for MB (Mercedes-Benz) to invest capital in stocking slow-moving inventory. Consequently, it may be necessary to get the part directly from the original manufacturer. Have you made an effort to contact the dealer in order to request a financial contribution from Mercedes to cover the expenses?
-
Certainly, it is feasible to rectify the issue at hand. The cost of the repair will be contingent upon the specific components requiring replacement, the cumulative expenses of the parts and labour, and the entity responsible for doing the repair. Due to the occurrence of a Bank Holiday in the United Kingdom, the response time for addressing your inquiries may be further prolonged, contingent upon your location within the region of Ireland. If the vehicle had maintenance at a Mercedes service centre over the last 12 months, it is expected that you will be eligible for Mobilo breakdown coverage. In the event that no other options are available, it is advisable to arrange for the vehicle to be transported to a Mercedes dealership at no cost. Given the current stage of the vehicle's lifespan, it would be appropriate to request the dealer to initiate the process of obtaining a goodwill payment to offset any expenses, particularly if there are no other available warranties to rely upon.

Hot Middle Advisor? One way traffic only...

Let it go and invest in a W222 S63 AMG. -
I have sent an email to them and am now awaiting a response. Additionally, I plan to contact them through phone in the near future. It is intriguing that Mercedes, in an official capacity, asserts that their dash cam is not compatible with my specific vehicle type. This assertion is perplexing, given the device just requires electricity from the battery and a signal for ignition activation. To the best of my knowledge, there is no integration between the device and the car's electronics. Furthermore, it operates impeccably with the exception of a single anomalous component that is absent.
