Howard_silver
My 2019 Optima cranks but fails to start. Any suggestions, since I am uncertain and it is out of warranty? Thank you
alpaco45
Additional details would assist in guiding forum members to provide a coherent response. The mileage, service history—especially the most recent service—and the timing and location of the issue may provide valuable insights. The multitude of alternatives, given the little information available so far, compels members to speculate over the rationale. Is it a 1.6 turbodiesel type, and did the vehicle malfunction while in operation, or did it just fail to start after being parked at home or elsewhere? The aforementioned details, together with the identification of the garage that conducted the most recent service, will enable prospective responders to refine the likely cause. Forum members are eager to assist; but, they want further information, as I have already said.

Howard_silver
It is a 1.6 diesel automatic that has had several issues recently. It has a complete service history, with maintenance performed every six weeks due to thickening oil. A new diesel pump was installed, followed by a sensor replacement in the exhaust. I have owned other 1.7 Optimas without any problems, but this particular vehicle has been a nightmare. Thank you.
