Alex1978
Greetings, everyone. Several weeks ago, the remote locking feature on my E91 ceased functioning. I have tested two keys, and neither works, making it improbable that the issue is with the keys themselves. The central locking system remains operational with the key inserted in the door. I saw that the rear screen demister stopped functioning simultaneously. I have conducted much reading, and others have suggested that either the diversity module may be susceptible to water infiltration or that the wires in the boot might be damaged. Numerous individuals have enquired about the simultaneous failure of the demister and remote locking systems, although no one has suggested a probable explanation for this concurrent malfunction. I believed it prudent to enquire before disassembling the boot. Does anybody have any suggestions, please?
bvlenci
I am unaware of any factors that might cause both problems to manifest concurrently. Is the back screen heater fuse functional, and can you hear the relay engage when activated? Is your automobile battery in optimal condition? The wiring for the rear screen heater are located in the near-side hinge, whereas the diversity wires are situated in the offside hinge. I would see these as distinct flaws. If you identify a common factor that contributed to both failures, please share your results to assist other forum members.
Alex1978
Now that you bring it up I have also seen the low power/vehicle not charging indicator (battery icon) activate. My battery may be in suboptimal condition.
bvlenci
An inadequate battery may prevent the back screen demister from activating. Have you indicated if the lock button on the dashboard functions properly for the central locking system?
Alex1978
The lock button on the dashboard continues to function well for central locking.
Screwdriver_1
I would be astonished if this is not your concern with the HRW.
