dave783
Greetings once again, gentlemen, I was formerly a member but have recently returned with a renewed enthusiasm, owning both an EQC and an SL350 from 2011. I own three cables that accompany the multimedia package and are intended for use with the socket located in the central console. I connected my USB cord to the USB port and the phone is charging, but there is no audio and I am unable to see it on the head unit. iPhone 15 Pro Max Is there any other need or am I missing anything evident? I would want to connect my phone to the car's audio system in order to play music and other audio content.
TDudette
Is this referring to the 2011 SL350 model or the EQC model? There is a disparity of more than ten years. (You should be able to connect the phone to the EQC via Bluetooth.)
dave783
The SL350 has had no problems with the EQC.
TDudette
Apologies for the question that may seem simple, but it is always vital to verify. I have two things that spring to mind: Are you certain that you own the appropriate cable for your electrical connection? There are inexpensive Chinese connections available that may seem to be functional but really do not perform well. Furthermore, can you confirm that you do not own an MMI connection for this? If you own such port, it would be more logical to transmit data over Bluetooth to the desired destination.
dave783
The cable I have is new old stock, meaning it is a previously unused item. The iPhone connector on the cable is designed for devices that were released before the introduction of the lightning connector. I have been informed that I need an inverter or an other cable. dave783
I have just discovered that I need either a specialised cable or a Bluetooth adaptor.
WiseSage
Greetings upon your return! It has been a considerable amount of time.
dave783
Yes, it has been almost 9 years since I last had a Mercedes. I just purchased a new EQC mostly for the tax benefits, and I also have a 2011 SL350. However, I am now seeing difficulties in connecting my iPhone to the Comand 2.5 multimedia system in the SL350, which is causing me. Is Richard from Comand still available? WiseSage
However, you previously informed us that you were just going out briefly to get milk...
dave783
I have purchased a 30-pin to Bluetooth adapter for my Apple device. I am curious to see whether it works properly.
dave783
I have purchased a 3.5mm to USB-C adapter in order to test whether I can input audio into the comand system.
TDudette
I apologise, but I am now having difficulty comprehending the situation at hand. Most likely, the blame lies with me. Is there an MMI connection present in the car? If that is the case, the typical procedure involves connecting an Invery Bluetooth adapter and using Bluetooth to transmit your material. This allows you to access iPhone choices using the steering wheel controls. However, there is no comparable to CarPlay. To do that, you would need a whole separate head unit. dave783
Which specific model are you referring about, please?
dave783
I successfully connected the iPhone 15 to the Mercedes multimedia system using a USB-C connection. I managed to enable audio output via the AUX input by using a 3.5mm to USB-C converter connected to the Mercedes multimedia system's 3.5mm wire. It has come to my attention that you are able to perceive auditory stimuli, a fact that seems to be unknown to many. I am determined to spread this knowledge and have a significant impact on the world. 😂 If I come across a Bluetooth adapter, I will get it, albeit the specific model remains unknown. WiseSage
If you own a 3.5 mm jack connector, you may use it to enable Bluetooth connectivity for both music playback and phone calls. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09Y8CZ48V?ref=cm_sw_r_cso_cp_apin_dp_P9Y0R6FARCK6HVMGZ6VH&ref_=cm_sw_r_cso_cp_apin_dp_P9Y0R6FARCK6HVMGZ6VH&social_share=cm_sw_r_cso_cp_apin_dp_P9Y0R6FARCK6HVMGZ6VH&starsLeft=1&skipTwisterOG=
TDudette
Please go to the hyperlink that I provided earlier throughout the week. Follow the hyperlink that I have provided and proceed with further investigation. This should not be complex, since it is a car that is ten years old. Once you establish the Bluetooth connection, you will also need a separate power connection just for the purpose of charging your USB-C phone, without any data transmission. The use of Bluetooth instead of a data cable connection offers a significant benefit, allowing you to effortlessly access your automobile, start it, and simply command, "Hey Sir, play Start it Up, by the Rolling Stones," without the need for any cable-related hassle.
