Assistance needed with financial predicament

Recommended Posts

Does anybody know the intended connection point for this plug? I have thoroughly examined the engine compartment but could not locate anything. I have also included a photo for reference.

I recently had the timing chain, oil pump, chain, and hydraulic tappets replaced in my vehicle. However, it is now experiencing rough idling. The car will be sent back to the mechanic for further inspection because no issues were found during a smoke test.

Any recommendations?

Which side of the car? Camchain or thermostat housing side? You may trace the connection by following the colour pair on a wiring schematic using the available colours.

The cable and wire are emerging from the ECU box located above the thermostat housing. Despite thorough searching in the engine compartment, neither I nor the technician could locate the connection point. Seeking assistance here as advised by the mechanic.

After realising that the plug is located on the ECU side of the engine, I would inspect the camshaft sensors, oil pressure switch, thermostat, thermostat valve (beneath the thermostat housing), and MAF (positioned on the side of the intake manifold).

Thank you, friend. I will examine it tomorrow. Can I ask another question then? My vehicle lacks a crankshaft breathing hose connecting the valve cover to the manifold. The garage said this is typical, but I have been unable to locate any information on this online. Is this accurate, or need I purchase a hose?

In my opinion, a crankshaft breather should be there. It seems like someone has blocked it off, perhaps thinking it would help with oil consumption or oil deposit problems on the intake valves. The Prince engine has an issue with oil consumption due to oil passing the oil control rings. Blocking the breather will not solve this issue. However, installing a 'catch can' may assist reduce oil deposits on the intake valves. Replacing the oil control rings will ultimately resolve the oil consumption problem common in all Prince engines.

I am having difficulty locating the connection point for the switch from the ECU. I have searched on YouTube and found it in a video around 4:05, but unfortunately, the movie does not provide an explanation of its use or location. Does anybody have other suggestions?
