keithmerc220
Greetings to everyone, I am experiencing a problem with my car's boot; it opens when the button on the key fob is pressed, but it does not elevate automatically. Any guidance would be greatly valued. Thank you.
CyberNinja
The spring tension for the boot lid can be adjusted. According to recollection, the springs can be positioned in various locations.
SkippyTom
That is accurate. I have modified my springs.
AMG33D
Did the W211 have the same deficient spring-hinge design as the W202? When hinges fracture, a loud bang will emanate from the dislodged springs. Repeatedly opening and closing a boot over the years will ultimately result in significant stress and eventual fatigue of the metal hinges. I am aware that the dealership offers a repair kit for the W202 trunk
spiezen
I believe he implies it is not accelerating. It must be connected to observe the situation. Typically, there is a malfunction of the hydraulic pump.

Rojoires
Was the W211 equipped with a motorised trunk? Mine was equipped with a spring assist. Unless the original poster is alluding to the Estate variant?
CheresX
Has it ever elevated automatically? Have you decoded the VIN to verify that this was indeed an installed feature?
keithmerc220
Yes, it automatically elevates; however, for the past two months, it has not done so. I observe that it possesses springs on both sides.
keithmerc220
Mine is equipped with spring assist; I merely need to determine how to access it for adjustment.
