What are the connectivity options for the iPod Classic?

Recently acquired a 2025 CX-90. Thus far, it is quite pleasant. I am studying the capabilities of vehicles. Specifically, the functionality of the central display of the entertainment system. All components of the entertainment system appear to function properly, with the exception of one element.

I attempted to connect my vintage iPod Classic using a USB-C adapter, but it would not function. I received a notification indicating "USB device not recognised." The auto detects a connection but is not processing it. Am I overlooking a particular method to achieve this?

I attempted to connect my iPod Classic to the USB Type-A port, but it was not recognised. 2024 CX-90 Turbo Select.

I utilise a 15-year-old USB drive through a USB to USB-C converter without any complications. 64 gigabytes of music
