CheresX
Thank you. I am exhausting all options. A manual release cable is located under the hood and seems to be loose. Inquiring if it is inhibiting the release of the "charging cover door lock." The RAC is declining assistance, citing that I possess sufficient charge to reach the nearby dealer, however insufficient for my intended activities today or tomorrow. I will provide an update if I get a solution.
Paulinelinker
The manual release cable is used for instances where the charging cord becomes lodged. It seems that the standard door lock solenoid has malfunctioned. Not unusual. Dealer warranty assignment. I consistently lubricate my with silicone spray. Inserting and extracting it to ensure the removal of debris.
CheresX
Thank you. I contacted the dealer, who said that the release cord operates the charging door; but, as you indicated, it does not. It is very frustrating that I am unable to use the automobile due to such a little issue. I will contact the dealer tomorrow.

badgx
Verifying the evidence - as a precaution - is the vehicle powered off and in "Park"? It seems that a mechanical component may be either malfunctioning or obstructed, maybe requiring lubrication; nonetheless, I have experienced my 2016 Soul's lid freezing shut. I recommend using a plastic pry tool to ascertain if the latch has engaged and whether debris is only obstructing its closure.
CheresX
Vehicle scheduled for Tuesday. I possess sufficient charge to reach the destination, but not an excess - therefore, let us hope for a resolution!
