Hi everybody, At the end of the year, I want to get a Land Rover Defender 90 as my first automobile since I grew up with them and they are the best option for my location. I will be hauling up to 3.5 tonnes on a regular basis and driving 45 minutes each way on highways three times a week to go to and from school. I like off-roading and living in the country, where there are many hills with slopes of 33 percent or more. My previous thread asking a similar topic became too long, so I'm reposting it here, where the focus is squarely on the power plants. I have a question for you all: - why a 200tdi, - why a TD5, and - why not either?

Everyone will give you a different recommendation, but rubber or EPDM appears to have less difficulties than fiberglass, and I believe this is because of how effectively it is done in the first place. If there is any room for mobility in the construction, do you think the rubber would be more accommodating as well? 🙂 Having said that, felt, if it is installed correctly, may endure for a very long period as well - anywhere from 30 to 40 years, depending on the environment.

The Stant 45858 180-degree thermometer is another tool of mine. I set it up about five years ago, and it's still functioning well. Having a combination of a Stant 45858 and a Nissens 64029 radiator allows me to maintain a body temperature of between 170 and 180 degrees.

I totally agree with Paul. I think they are called "technicians," and they will never be mechanics because all they know is what a computer tells them. Sad to say, the mechanic is a dying breed.
