  1. Greetings to all I possess a 2022 C Class Estate and extensively utilise the Mercedes Me application on my iPhone. It consistently functions effectively and provides information regarding the vehicle's status, security condition, location, and more. Recently, the application has ceased functioning, albeit sporadically. For instance, it inaccurately displays the car's location, indicating a position I occupied an hour prior. It indicates that the automobile is unlocked when it is not. It does not respond to the app's request to lock the doors, open the windows, etc. It appears that a Mercedes server may be malfunctioning or operating at a significantly reduced speed. The issue cannot be attributed to network connection problems, as the vehicle has consistently functioned well in the same locations for several years. Then a few hours later - while the car is in the same location everything starts worming again. It is sporadic yet notably common in recent days. Is anyone else observing this behaviour, please? Or is it a recognised issue that I have not picked up on? I observed that an individual on Twitter (X) reported similar behaviour regarding his vehicle a few days prior. I am enquiring whether there exists a global issue with the system. Do you have any suggestions? Warm regards
  2. Thank you all for the information. New Duracell batteries have been installed in both keys, and extra ones are also in the vehicle.Thank to everybody.
  3. While shopping today, I returned to my vehicle and pressed the start button, only to receive a message indicating that no key was detected. After several attempts, a new message prompted me to press the start button with the key fob. I complied, and the car started. Upon arriving home, I checked to see if the issue persisted, but everything returned to normal. I also verified that the key fob battery was fully charged at 3.1V. Any suggestions?
  4. Midlands... Borders of Leicestershire, Rutland, and Cambridgeshire
  5. Update: Fuse 46 regulates the central locking system, alarm, and keyless entry, among other functions. Fuse 74 facilitates communication between the remote and the vehicle. Consequently, activating 74 renders the remote inoperative for keyless entry and button functions for locking/unlocking. Therefore, removing either fuse is not feasible.
  6. Greetings! I have just acquired a magnificent Obsidian Black SL350 with red leather, and I am enamored. What an exquisite automobile. I had previously owned many Mercedes vehicles and appreciated each one, but this is my first in several years. My vehicle is equipped with an attractive specification that includes Keyless Entry and Keyless Go. Although they are really useful, I want to limit their usage to enhance security. I attempted the "2-button-push" method to deactivate the Keyless entry, but it was ineffective. Upon contacting the door handle, the vehicle reopens. I have attempted this with both keys and have not succeeded. Has anybody with a 2013 SL or a comparable model have similar difficulties in deactivating Keyless Entry? Has anybody achieved success by removing the fuse for the Keyless Entry/Go system? - supposing a single fuse serves both functions and no others? If affirmative, which fuse should I remove? Thank you, everyone.
  7. I, too, am overwhelmed by an accumulation of unnecessary items in the shed, haha.
  8. Indeed, it pertains to a 1998 vehicle; A converter lead and BMW diagnostic tools will be required.
  9. I own a Faraday box and bag from Amazon for the key fobs of my 2024 GT-line (keyless entry). I tested them by placing the key in the box and approaching the car: no connection was established. Upon opening the package, the mirrors unfurled as anticipated. The bag is identical in this regard. Effectively inhibits remote connectivity when the keys are located inside.
  10. Upon initiating the vehicle, the head unit's behaviour is unpredictable; it may revert to the previous setting, alternate between radio and media, or occasionally power off entirely. Is this typical? I do not believe so, yet the service department merely shrugged when I enquired and suggested I remind them at the next service. Other owners I know do not encounter this issue, so I am seeking confirmation here. Thank you.
  11. Thank you. I hope the thermostat has already been replaced in the Mercedes I purchase. I drove my vehicle to a Mercedes independent garage in Chelmsford today for a thermostat replacement. They cost me £436, which is excessive for a task involving just three bolts, especially because it is easily accessible on the OM646 engine.
  12. Issues and Dependability of the Mercedes M274/M270 EngineThe M274/M270 engine series have many deficient components throughout. The first component is the camshaft actuators (solenoids). Typically, after 60,000 to 70,000 miles, these engines begin to emit a certain noise when cold. This indicates deterioration inside the camshaft adjusters. In 2014, engines were equipped with upgraded actuators (part no. A2700501147) that provide extended retention. The second issue pertains to the accelerated deterioration of the timing chain. The expected lifetime is roughly 80,000 miles, with a variance of plus or minus 20,000 miles. The subsequent issue you may face at the same mileage is turbocharger failure. The issue with the turbocharger is uncommon, although it remains relevant. The long-term reliability of the M274/M270 is contingent upon several variables. As is customary, Mercedes vehicles require diligent care and maintenance, often more frequently than the manufacturer's prescribed timetable. That is where I encountered the issues related to the timing chain.
