jennycarlotta
Is there anybody in the Kent area that has an OBD reader? Please direct message me. I am experiencing an orange engine warning light that beeps three times upon starting. Alternatively, if someone could indicate the potential issue, I would appreciate it. I was travelling on the freeway when a notification appeared about the fuel for a 2013 Peugeot 208 1.2. Assistance needed.
TDudette
Utilise the Peugeot Planet map inside the group, as it will display the locations of members who may assist with diagnostic plug-in services.

SkippyTom
Acquire an ELM327 Bluetooth reader, using discernment in selection, then couple it with your phone or tablet and use an application such as Torque to gain a clearer understanding of the situation. From where area of Kent are you, Ryu?
SkippyTom
A brief history of the ELM327 and its Chinese replicas follows. I have used a generic Bluetooth ELM327 device with Dash. I like the idea of Dash; but, its execution is subpar. The narrative behind ELM327 is quite disappointing. None of the ELM327 devices available on Amazon or eBay are authentic. Elm Electronics created the ELM327 firmware with a standard Microchip PIC18 microcontroller; however, when commencing sales of the first ELM327 chips, they neglected to include firmware copy protection. Individuals successfully extracted the firmware, programmed it into their own unprogrammed PIC18 microcontrollers, and produced counterfeit devices at a low cost. This is detrimental for Elm because to the significant income loss, and it is equally disadvantageous for us since all the counterfeit devices utilise an outdated and flawed firmware version 1.0. The authentic ELM327 has reached version 2.1, representing a significant improvement over version 1.0, with several bug fixes, more commands, improved protocol support, and larger buffers. Counterfeit devices sometimes indicate firmware versions beyond 1.0; however, this is deceptive—the 1.0 software has been minimally altered to display a higher version upon inquiry. Locating Bluetooth devices equipped with authentic, current ELM327 chips is unfeasible. At my previous employment, I used a genuine ELM327 chip on a circuit board within a product, employing the chip consistently. However, at times when I intended to access my vehicle and experiment with the ELM327, using a Bluetooth ELM327 device with my laptop was much more convenient than employing the real product I was constructing. Regrettably, after much searching, I was unable to locate any Bluetooth devices with authentic ELM327s. I sought a counterfeit device that used the same microcontroller footprint as the authentic chips, removed the fraudulent chip, and installed a genuine ELM327 v2.1 obtained straight from Elm. I purchased many gadgets that assured the usage of authentic ELM327 chips, although none included them. I observed the existence of two categories of forgeries. The respectable devices that use the pilfered firmware on generic PIC18s and the inferior ones that employ an entirely distinct architecture while attempting to replicate the ELM327's functionality (with some ineptitude). Regrettably, it is impossible to ascertain without acquiring the device and executing certain instructions at a terminal. You may examine the inside electronics by opening it. CheresX
Three beeps may indicate low coolant levels; verify this first at no cost.
SkippyTom
It prompts me to question why you are using them at all when. An appropriate Lexia clone is ideal for Peugeot, since it replicates the system used by PSA.
CheresX
Procedure: Locate and Acquire a Planet / Diagbox Diagnostic If you have registered on this site seeking assistance with your Peugeot (which is common), you will likely be advised to get a "Peugeot Planet" diagnostic prior to moving further. The rationale behind this is because some failures may arise from several factors; the "anti-pollution fault" shown might stem from numerous issues, and indiscriminately replacing components is both costly and time-intensive. What is "Peugeot Planet"? It is a diagnostic apparatus specifically built for Peugeot automobiles. What advantages does Peugeot Planet possess over other code readers? Peugeot Planet has extensive capabilities beyond providing precise information on specific trouble codes associated with Peugeots; it can also read live data from all main vehicle components and conduct component tests. Certain code readers also do not detect fault codes. Certain scanners fail to provide accurate codes. Some scanners erroneously inform owners of petrol-engine vehicles about defective components that are only installed in diesel engines. Alternatively, they only provide the uninformative "manufacturer specific code" notification. This may result in a futile pursuit if you seek assistance via Google. I conducted tests using many scanners on my vehicle, which had established problems in the EGR, diesel heater sensor, and glow plug. Only Planet successfully identified these fault codes and retrieved live data confirming the components' malfunction. On two instances, I have seen a national breakdown service attributing a customer's high-pressure fuel pump failure to the diagnostic code, only to discover that the actual problem was with the tank lift pump—one case had a clogged filter, while the second was due to insufficient current to the pump caused by an ageing battery. I also engage in freelancing work for many independent garages using several expert code readers. The need of using Planet and Diagbox indicates that even the premium equipment is not universally comprehensive for all vehicles. What are "Lexia" and "Diagbox"? Lexia3 refers to the hardware connection that connects the vehicle to the computer. To exacerbate the ambiguity "Lexia" is the designation of the software used for diagnosing Citroën vehicles. Diagbox is a comprehensive solution for diagnosing Citroen and Peugeot automobiles, including the sometimes problematic 307 that Planet cannot read. It is the only software program that continues to get updates. Nonetheless, it is a resource-intensive software that requires a relatively fast laptop to operate at an acceptable pace, namely not a Netbook with less than 4GB of RAM and without an SSD. Should I visit a Peugeot dealership for a diagnostic assessment? You may proceed, but they will impose their usual labour rate. The typical cost is around £80 plus VAT for one hour. Certain dealers may offer a half-hour charge. What is the status of other garages that possess diagnostic equipment or services? You may attempt. I will refrain from identifying specific items; nevertheless, I can assert that I freelance for many garages using prominent diagnostic technologies, and I get plenty work when their costly "scan-anything" machines fail to detect an issue. What are the options available? A number of forum users own the diagnostic equipment and are willing to assist. Expenses range from a "pint of beer" and upwards. Prices are not predetermined; thus, it is necessary to consult with the member to negotiate the cost. This should be preemptively agreed to avoid any discord. A further visit post-repair should be contemplated, not alone to verify the resolution of the issue, but also to erase the residual fault codes recorded in the system. What is the method to locate a member? Initially, you should provide your location in your user profile to expedite the process somewhat. Subsequently, choose the PEUGEOT PLANET MAP thread. A Google map displays the locations of those having the equipment. The map furthermore includes proprietors from several automotive communities on Facebook to provide comprehensive coverage. Identify the individual next to you and dispatch a Private Message (PM) rather than a visitor message, or reach out to them via Facebook or email if their information is available on their pushpin. Select your profile photo on the top menu bar, then click on CONVERSATIONS. Select the blue START CONVERSATION button located underneath the banner image: Begin typing the username of the person you want to contact in the RECIPIENT box, and it will automatically resolve. If no one is around, a comparable map is available on frenchcarforum.co.uk; however, the users may mostly be Citroen drivers and may not assist with particular Peugeot mechanical enquiries. Nonetheless, it should enough for diagnostic purposes and to relay the information here. Will these individuals repair my vehicle? Negative. These individuals are only typical Peugeot owners, same to yourself. They have just invested in a cable and a laptop to do diagnostics. They serve just as intermediaries relaying the information sent by the vehicle. The use and interpretation of this information are at your discretion, whether by you or a technician. I am unable to send private messages! This measure is implemented to deter spammers from bothering members. To activate your PM privileges, you must have made 20 posts to the forum. If you want to avoid superfluous commentary on arbitrary postings, utilise the NEED 20 postings BEFORE PM thread. If you are unable to post on that platform, consider using this alternative. Usernames are clickable; choose them to verify their latest online status. If they have not been online for a month or more, inform Gibbo so he can remove them off the map. Ensure you send a private message rather than a guest message, since private communications trigger a notice email, whilst visitor messages do not. I own the kit; how can I access the map? Provide PM Gibbo with the following information: username, postcode for the desired pushpin location, and the towns, suburbs, or shires you are prepared to cover. The only "requirement" is to check the forum everyday for any communications from members. Consider disabling "visitor messages," since some new members may mistake these with private messages, and unlike private communications, you will not get an email notice for a visitor message. There is no one in my vicinity. We continuously seek more individuals to cover regions with deficiencies or locations where individuals have sold their properties and transitioned to another brand. Acquire the Lexia cable (about £40 from Aliexpress) and an obsolete laptop or netbook. Consult my guide here.
