alpaco45
Does anybody experience significant heat generation from their wall charger throughout the charging process? Is the cable included as well? I am experiencing an intermittent issue with the charging system, whereby it sometimes causes a complete power outage in my home. To resolve this, I need to manually reset the switch located outside near the meter. This is really inconvenient around 2 o'clock in the morning. (I am now located in Spain, so please bear in mind that my response may reflect this geographical context.) In Spain, the electricity consumption for your residence is determined by the contracted kilowatt (kW) capacity, and the bills are calculated accordingly. Our power capacity is 5.75 kilowatts. The charger has a power rating of 7 kW, but, I have configured it in the application to only consume 2.5 kW. Occasionally, it operates well, but with excessive frequency, the power supply is interrupted. Furthermore, the issue at hand is not a fuse tripping, which would occur if one were to exceed the designated 5.75kW limit by using several air conditioning units simultaneously or using the oven and kettle concurrently. Rather, it is the meter itself that is switching off. The handbook states that the cooling fan in the motor compartment may function automatically, which it does. However, it does not provide an explanation for this behaviour. I have become sceptical of the charger's reliability, and as a result, I only charge it during daylight hours when I am able to closely monitor it. If I detect the cooling fan activating twice in rapid succession, I immediately cease the charging process. At that moment, I became aware of the heated wall enclosure and electrical wiring. The box is directly linked to the meter, bypassing the fuse box inside the home. It has its own fuse in a separate fuse box located in the garage. I would anticipate this fuse to trip in the event of a problem, however it does not. The charging station installed is an Enel X Juicebox Pro Cellular EV Charging Station, provided by Endesa. Thank you in advance for any help.
Motoman
To be honest. If the temperature is becoming too high, then request the presence of the installer to inspect and assess the situation.
Motoman
Are you referring to the automobile or the structure known as a wall box in this context?
alpaco45
The information may be found in the automobile handbook.
Motoman
This is a discussion on the automobile. The battery is equipped with a coolant. During the charging process, if the battery temperature exceeds a certain threshold, the cooling system will activate and the fan will start operating to lower the temperature of the coolant. I am aware that on hot days (20°C), the temperature of the charging wire for my vehicle increases significantly compared to when it is chilly. However, I would argue that this is mostly caused by the high temperature of the tarmac and the surrounding environment, rather than any other factors. Furthermore, my device consistently consumes 7 kilowatts of power. In my opinion, the problem is most likely caused by the ambient temperature. alpaco45
After careful consideration, I find it logical and coherent. However, because I am now in Spain and utilising a vehicle and charger provided in Spain, one would assume that there should not be any issues. In addition, I informed the dealer who reacted with astonishment and curiosity over the occurrence of such an event. The user's text is an emoji depicting a person shrugging. Motoman
The installer is the one who should be consulted. Admittedly, dealers often lack knowledge about the automobiles they sell, much alone a cable that is unrelated to their business.
alpaco45
I suppose it would be prudent for me to do so. I am curious about if it is typical for the temperature to rise. Occasionally, while a phone is being charged, it may experience an increase in temperature, but at other times, it may not.
TDudette
If you are unable to get the original installers, any competent electrician will be capable of inspecting it. I recommend discontinuing its use and deactivating its supply till completion.
Craigbelont
To address this issue, I suggest accessing the Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) settings menu on your vehicle and adjusting the maximum charge rate from 7 kilowatt-hours (KWh) to around 3 KWh. The menu setting can be found under the PHEV option. Once configured, it will prevent the vehicle from requesting more power over the specified limit. alpaco45
I am unable to locate this. Could you provide me with more detailed instructions, please?
Craigbelont
This is the screen displaying the available options for selection. Adjust the AC charging current to 60% in order to decrease the charging current, resulting in a little reduction in temperature (at the expense of longer charging time). DSM10000
Is your charging cable insufficient in length, or is there a loose connection in either the plug socket or the charger?
alpaco45
I expect the equipment to be suitable for the automobile, however there is always a possibility of anything being improperly secured. I will need to request their presence for an inspection. Thank you.
