Motoman
I have just placed a non-original reverse camera in my 2013 c250 cdi Amg sport vehicle. The camera displays a distinct picture for a brief duration, after which the image vanishes and the screen becomes devoid of any visual output. The automobile is equipped with Comand and features the ntg 4.5 system. I am perplexed as to why the picture abruptly vanishes despite the vehicle being in reverse gear. I connected the positive wire to the reverse light wire using a connector, and I connected the earth wire to the same earth as the fuse box. Assistance would be much appreciated. Thank you. bvlenci
Does the camera just have two wires? Does the reverse wire at the cam remain energised when a test light is connected to it? What kind of monitor are you using - a dedicated display or the command screen?
Motoman
Thank you for your response. Indeed, the camera is equipped with a pair of cables. I already conducted a test on the reverse wire and found it to be functioning well. However, I have not yet tested it when the screen becomes dark. I want to do this test today. The display appears on the command screen and exhibits excellent quality for a brief duration before turning off completely. I will attempt the test when the screen becomes dark. bvlenci
I understand that a command has to be programmed in order to show the reverse camera. Although it is briefly visible, it is possible that it may be the case.
Motoman
Thank you for that. Based on my understanding, according to the information I have read, it is expected that ntg4.5 does not need programming. However, there is a possibility that it may still require programming. Indeed, your statement provides a plausible explanation for the rapid disappearance of the picture. I have conducted a thorough examination of the camera when in reverse gear, and it consistently displays a voltage reading of 11.7v when the picture becomes black. Perhaps the voltage is inadequate? bvlenci
In my opinion, the voltage provided is really sufficient.👍🏻👍🏻
