clk320x4
Greetings everyone, I possess a CLK 350 Sport featuring the subsequent engine serial number. Engine 272960 30 602445 I have recently begun to notice a significant decrease in my vehicle's performance; initially, this occurred during a cold start, and while there was no discernible rattling, the engine felt unsteady. Commencing the journey proved somewhat challenging as the gears transitioned through their cycles, the vehicle engaged into gear, and the EML illuminated... The mistake is: P0015: persistent camshaft adjustment (right) erroneous positioning of the exhaust camshaft I have not encountered any additional errors; I read that a timing chain or balance shaft could generate two concurrent codes. Regardless, the vehicle has deteriorated significantly; it now feels exceedingly sluggish and does not operate as it did a few weeks prior. Recently, I have performed the following tasks on the vehicle: - TCM refurbishment (velocity and turbine sensor malfunctions) - Replaced all six spark plugs and ignition coil packs. I am aware that several problems arose with the balance shaft in certain engines; however, I do not think mine falls within that category, despite the vehicle having 105,000 miles. In addition to the cold start noise, what other indications suggest a deteriorated timing chain or balance shaft? Furthermore, is there any knowledge regarding the availability of an aftermarket kit that meets OEM quality standards? Is this task exclusively for Mercedes? I am open to visiting the main dealership; however, if there exists a manufacturer that produced these for Mercedes, I would prefer to pursue that option. I operated the vehicle this morning for a necessary trip, and it was significantly struggling to exceed 50mph. Thank you for your assistance, as always! clk320x4
I will probably replace the balance shaft if the timing chain requires substitution. Do you have any suggestions regarding timing chains or timing chain kits apart from consulting Mercedes?

Screwdriver_1
From my frequently referenced fault code compilation. The Mercedes-Benz code P0015 signifies "B" Camshaft Position — Timing Excessively Delayed (Bank 1). This suggests that the exhaust camshaft on Bank 1 is not returning to its baseline or "home" position as promptly as anticipated by the engine control unit. Origins. Defective VVT Solenoid / Camshaft Adjuster Magnet: A jammed, degraded, or electrically malfunctioning variable valve timing (VVT) magnet/solenoid is the most common cause. clk320x4
I appreciate it! Do you have any estimates for the expense of replacing the timing chain and recommendations for OEM-quality brands that could be utilised? Extremely exasperating, as I have invested a considerable amount to establish it this year; I certainly wish to avoid descending into an endless abyss.
