Rashman4u
The 2004 E46 330 convertible had a new module installed since the previous one was irreparable. The garage is unable to programme a new module for the automobile. Unable to locate or enter the vehicle identification number (VIN). Is it exclusive to authorised dealers? The garage is searching for a module that the automobile does not possess. Assistance would be much appreciated.
VWDaveBMW
I had no difficulties when I replaced the battery in a 2004 e46 that I owned before. From whence did they get the module? Is it defective? Additionally, I acquired a second-hand car key for my friend's vehicle around four years ago. I purchased it from an online marketplace, specifically from a similar car model. This particular key was designed to be easily installed and activated, requiring just a synchronisation process with the keyfob.

VWDaveBMW
I hope they resolve the issue for you, considering the substantial amount of money you likely spent on purchasing a new one. You might have had the last one repaired, since it was not a significant task.
Rashman4u
Thank you, my friend. The previous one had to be sent for repair on two separate occasions. All the malfunctions, such as the windows, mirrors, and wipers, were repaired. However, while reinstalling them in the vehicle, the central locking system began to malfunction, which was the sole component that was functioning properly before to the repair. IrvesBMW
Yes, coding is a very straightforward task that a skilled individual should be capable of doing. Wishing you success.
