VWDaveBMW
I have replaced the negative cable (IBS) on two occasions, as well as the positive cable including the little wire that connects to the socket for the IBS. This replacement was done as a precautionary measure in case the plug was defective. However, I am still experiencing similar difficulties. Both the alternator and the 110ah battery have been changed and reregistered. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Paqngo
It seems that the performance of BSD/LIN is influenced by the age of the car.
VWDaveBMW
Could it be the heating valves located under the hood? Apologies for the oversight, but is worth noting that the vehicle in question is a 2009 e64 630i.
Paqngo
The age in question should be categorised as BSD bus, since it does not fall inside the BSD line. The components that are controlled by BSD include the IBS, alternator, oil level sensor, electric water pump, mapped thermostat, and radiator shutter. VWDaveBMW
I have successfully installed a new thermostat and water pump, as well as changed the heater valves. However, I am still experiencing a lack of generator signal. Additionally, the bimmerlink battery is now at 27% capacity, although being fully charged. Furthermore, when I directly measure the voltage of the alternator using a multimeter, it fluctuates between 13.6% and 14.4%. I have successfully installed and calibrated a new Bosch 110ah battery and changed the alternator, since the bearings in my existing 2009 630i n53 e64 engine were producing excessive noise. This situation is causing significant distress. Additionally, I have replaced the ignition switch with a second-hand one. I am now uncertain about the next steps to take. DreamWeaver
The process of ageing and cognitive decline Apologies, but I had a similar issue last year. I had an incorrect alternator on my vehicle, but I am unable to recall the codes. Which alternator did you replace?
VWDaveBMW
The vehicle in question was a rebuilt aftermarket Lucus. I believe the one that was removed was a Bosch.

VWDaveBMW
I would like to provide you with an update. I had my original alternator refurbished and you successfully fitted it this morning. It is now functioning properly. However, the newly purchased aftermarket alternator is not functioning properly. Therefore, I am returning it. Thank you for your assistance. I have now encountered a fault code for the fuel pressure sensor, so I will be replacing it.
DreamWeaver
I'm glad you have resolved the issue. When I encountered the issue, it was unfamiliar to me. I believe it was related to the regenerative braking system or something they are trying to improve for my satisfaction. Both alternators seemed identical when seen side by side, save for the presence of a clutch in one of the pulleys.
