BenTrevor
I have been researching Sportages for several weeks and intended to schedule a viewing until I encountered some articles concerning the GPS systems. Given that I only undertake relatively short commutes to and from work, I am concerned it may be a problem. Do all petrol models experience issues, or only specific ones? I am examining the 2023 - 2024 1.6 T-GDi GT-Line, which I believe is a conventional non-hybrid vehicle. What additional prevalent issues should be monitored in these models? I am presently driving a 2023 Hyundai I20N, which is the most dependable vehicle I have owned. I was concerned that the Sportage might be underpowered, but I discovered several firms providing remaps that exceed 200 bhp, which would be optimal. Has anyone had theirs remapped? Screwdriver_1
Conduct a search for GPF issues; a remap voids the warranty.
BenTrevor
Hello, I have read the GPF thread regarding issues, but I am uncertain whether it pertains to the full hybrid models or the 148bhp variants as well.
developer
The GPF issues predominantly affect petrol-only variants; a GPF poll on the forum will provide insight into the amount of affected users. Following the first shock of encountering a GPF issue, the majority of individuals adhered to the cleaning protocol and ceased further complaints. I owned a 2024 manual vehicle with 148bhp and covered 8000 miles without seeing any GPF issues, despite a variety of driving circumstances. I believe driving style significantly influences this, as the self-cleaning process occurs during overrun conditions; thus, a lack of engine braking may increase susceptibility to difficulties. Upon reviewing the Sportage forum, you will identify any issues that have arisen. The most advantageous aspect is the seven-year guarantee; thus, ensure that the service book is properly stamped and that Kia's terms and conditions have been fulfilled. BenTrevor
I have installed a resonant GPF delete on my Hyundai; perhaps this may be a solution for the Sportage to mitigate the problem?
