BEERMAN
Hello, I am seeking information on an extended warranty related to a fault code concerning the crankcase ventilation valve. I understand that the warranty has been extended, but I am unable to get any information from Mercedes Glasgow.
Screwdriver_1
Are you inquiring whether the extended warranty you bought will cover the defect? If that is the case, then attempt to contact the extended warranty staff. Are you implying that Mercedes has expanded the new vehicle warranty to include a specific defect? If that is the case, it would be rather exceptional. Where did you get this information?
Screwdriver_1
It is not the automobile warranty that has been extended; rather, it is a components warranty, acknowledging the existence of a defect.
BEERMAN
I would be astonished if it is applicable to the UK (assuming you are located in the UK). Reach out to Mercedes-Benz UK Customer Services for confirmation.
ML350_Colin
Are you inquiring about 'goodwill'? Manufacturers do not extend warranties for known defects; instead, they provide either complimentary repairs or partial contributions, categorizing these actions as 'goodwill' rather than 'warranty,' and they are executed at their discretion. You must take the vehicle to a dealership and inquire with them. However, the circumstances change in the US, particularly in instances when MB USA has been litigated against by customers. Regarding the 'parts warranty', in the UK, it is two years; however, it pertains to parts acquired at the dealership's parts counter, not to components installed at the factory.
